Big Dance At The G 2015 : Hawthorn V West Coast

Time to get ready for the biggest event on the Australian sporting calendar. The AFL Grand Final will be held in Melbourne next saturday afternoon at the MCG.

We have the Mighty Fighting Hawks



up against the West Coast Eagles

Who do you want to win the flag this year? Reigning double premiers Hawthorn to get their three peat. Or the Eagles from west to snatch the flag?

A couple of weeks ago West Coast had a convincing 32 point victory over the Hawks but who will win the big one?

I'm fairly neutral but I'd like to see West Coast win just to keep Eddie happy Big grin

But I think Hawthorn will be hard to beat I predict Hawthorn by 3 goals, Roughead getting the Norm Smith

Eh, it's the usual story. Do we want Hawthorn to get their third win in a row or do we want West Coast to win in their first Grand Final for nearly a decade?

My "local" (in the sense it was the team I cheered for when I studied in Australia 15 years ago), The Rock-Yerong Creek Magpies took home the Farrer League grand final 2 weeks ago. Proud to say I've still got the match ball from the 2000 Grand Final which they also won

A public holiday in Melbourne on Friday for the first time, there was a worry that the GF parade on Friday would be poorly attended if there were 2 non-Victorian teams playing, will be interesting to see how many are in town on Friday to cheer the Hawks in the parade.

As an Essendon supporter, I'm not particularly fond of either of these two sides. But from an objective perspective, Hawthorn have been very difficult to beat this year, and only a few teams have done it. Yes, West Coast are one of those teams, but this time, it's Hawthorn who have the home ground advantage, and the added motivation of winning their third successive premiership.

Hawthorn by 30 points.

Don't say that, you'll give credence to the conspiracy theorists who argue that Fremantle only lost because the umpires were under instructions from the AFL who didn't want them in the grand final ...

Besides, there has been a non-Victorian grand final three times already (in three successive years - 2004, 2005 and 2006), which didn't seem to affect attendances too much.
