How Do I Add Music Files To PS3 Harddrive.

Posted: Wed Nov 18, 2015 10:59 pm
I'm trying to copy a number of mp3 files onto my PS3 harddrive, but for some reason the USB isn't being detected by the consol.
Is there any particular trick to adding audio files to PS3?

I have added the files on the USB stick - attempted to insert it in both USB slots on the PS3 console - looked everywhere for the USB device to be recognised - Yet nothing is found.

I don't really see what the problem is...

Any help or advise is most welcome.

Have you tried another USB drive?

The PS3 has 2 USB sockets, and I've tried them both.

The USB stick itself registers without problem on both my laptop and stationary computer.

Is your USB stick formatted with a compatible file system ? For example NTFS isn't compatible from what I'm reading.

Ah... that might well be a good point. I'll see if that helps.
Thanks.

I asked if you tried another stick. In addition to the formatting already mentioned, some USB flash drives just won't work in certain machines and swapping is often the easiest way to diagnose the problem.
