US Senate Zika Vote fails.

Democrats defeated a Senate vote to provide funding for the Zika Virus. Those darn Democrats, they did this to not provide a vehicle to help defund Planned Parenthood and to not allow Confederate flags to be flown on Veterans Graves. One wonders how these items ended up in the bill about Zika funding? Intentionally maybe? Maybe the Republicans used this tactic to force the Democrats to deny funding full well knowing they would not be able to pass these inserted distasteful amendments? Those sneaky Republicans never give up, no matter who they hurt. They have an agenda and nothing gets in the way it seems. What the hell, who cares about the Zika virus and deformed children?

What's hilarious is Zika is going to affect red states far more than it will any blue states any time soon. While Congressional Ken Dolls play with their non-existent d**ks, they have moved all of the major funding for working on the Ebola virus over to Zika, even though the CDC said they would run out of money in the next few weeks.

This is a repeat of Benghazi. Congressional Republicans slashed spending on security for the State Dept, and then when something goes pear shaped, they scream like stuck pigs about why Democrats didn't increase security even though they had less money to try to execute on the plan.

Zika will be no different. My guess is next season will be the biggest blowup on the Zika front, and Republicans and red states will be demanding the federal government "do something", even though morons like Gov. Rick Scott of FL slashed mosquito funding by 40% once he became governor, because tax cuts were more important.

The CDC told Obama they needed $1.9 billion to fight the Zika threat. Congress refused to believe the CDC, and then on top of slashing the budget request by nearly half and then tried to defund Planned Parenthood and Confederate flags yay!!!!!!! Of course these are the same bible beating idiots who will gnash their teeth about any Zika positive pregnant women who decide to have an abortion. We can't have that!!! And true to form Republicans won't allocate a nickel towards helping any women/families who decide to carry a Zika zygote to full term. As I've always said, Republicans love the fetus but hate the baby.

lol....and some people can't stand it when others critisize foreign religions/thoughts/beliefs/etc.

Anyways, it seems that adding odd things to the middle of an unrelated bill is a tactic used by everyone these days. It isn't fair to what could be a decent or needed piece of legislation to be voted down because of something "distasteful" that was inserted, but then it also speaks volumes sometimes about those that did vote against said bill. Unfortunately works both ways. At least the bill being discussed here was available to be read prior to the vote, unlike other legislation I vaguely recall reading about.
