Could an open top double deck party bus work?

Sun Jan 01, 2017 3:30 am

Hello

I had a ideal about an open top double deck party bus, but I been told that insurance would not want to touch such a dangerous ideal. Now, I think if the lower part of the bus, is the party bus and top deck is a sightseeing lounge where alcohol or anybody who drunk alcohol is ban, then it could be safer. So, could an open top double deck party bus work?

Where is it? California? North Dakota? How much would the bus cost you to buy and run? Do you live in a college town where there might be some demand for that kind of thing?

As for insurance, Logically you would put a sign going upstairs saying "If you get drunk and fall off the top of the bus, it's your own damned fault". But you might have state regulators who might complain. If so, you have a perfect example of over-regulation.

Insurance costs alone would kill your business.
if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport

Used to be pretty popular in NZ until a party bus full of drunk teenagers at an after ball party went under a motorway overbridge, one idiot was standing on his seat, his head was removed.

I've seen some in Eastern Europe. IMHO, I could hardly imagine a more unstylish place to be seen than in one of those abominations.

You mean like this?
These run in Havana Cuba and are used for sightseeing tours. Pictured travelling up the Prado de Marti in the top photo, and along the shoreline Malecon in the bottom photo.
The bus is a Chinese made Yutong.

You have these in Paris too, and probably elsewhere. Definitely not safe to party. Well, I've been on a nightclub boat on the Seine river so I guess it wasn't that safe either, especially when at the time drinks were free and unlimited.

Yes, they are at many places, even in my hometown of 300,000. But I really wouldn*t want them to be used as party buses as we don*t need more noise in the cities.
