It seems that there is still a live shooter inside the parliament? Hope the situation is brought under control quickly.

It's Muslims vs Muslims. Two enemies killing each other. He'll celebrate it and I wouldn't be surprised if he justifies a TRAVEL BAN on Iran with this incident.

You're not alone.

"Updated | Fighters loyal to the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) have apologized for launching an attack on Israeli forces last year in the disputed Golan Heights region, according to Israel's former defense minister."

Enemy's enemy creates strange bedfellows, perhaps.

But

"ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the truck driver who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians in Jerusalem, killing at least four people and injuring 15, was likely to be a supporter of Islamic State."

I would say that South and Central America has been pretty spared from events like these.

I bet they won't do Scotland again anytime soon.

I also know they know how New Zealand would take an attack.

Remember though, ISIS would claim it if you ate dodgy seafood and went the big vomit.

Very funny. Iran is designated a sponsor of terrorism, but yet they are hit by ISIS.

On the other hand, they still fund Hizbollah - but that's a paramilitary group, not a terrorist one.

The US and the Arab states really need to put the "Iran is evil" book away, and work together.

I had Montezuma's revenge last night. They're probably partying it up as a result.

The Arab States won't back off because there is a major power struggle going on between the Saudi led Sunnis and the Iranian dominated Shiias and currently the Shiias are on a roll; they now rule Iraq (thanks GWB) and they have also gained all but absolute power in Syria. All this enhances their position in Lebanon. It also constitutes a major threat to Saudi Arabia because probably 15% of their population are Shiias and are vulnerable to outside influence for two reasons: they live along the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia in the area where all the oil is and therefore are physically close to Shiia Iraq and Shiia Iran. We can assume that this fact makes the Kuwaitis a bit edgy about the subject too. This is why Saudi Arabia thinks it needs 100 billion more in arms to protect itself. The second reason is that they are treated as second class citizens by the Saudi dynasty.

The US can't back off because any politician who would acknowledge that Iran is not a terrorist state would find him or herself out of a job at the very next election. AIPAC would take care of that right pronto.

I've been by the Iranian Parliament actually and its a very secure facility and I was quite shocked at the news. It has a 5 meter high fence, bollards and armed security. You can find the videos on LiveLeak. Its kind of amazing they entered a active parliament session and only a 7 people were killed. There are armed security teams on both compounds so no attacker is going to get far.

As far as Israel and the USA. Israel didnt condemn the attack and Trump released a statement Javid Zarif (FM) rightly called "repugnant". Trump's statement implied Iran sponsors evil and it back at them. They kind of do but lest be honest, the US was arming the Afghani Mujahadeen against the Soviets and that turned into Al Qaeda and 9/11
