What is your menu for New Year´s Eve?

Sun Dec 31, 2017 3:56 am

Just like my post for Christmas, In a few hours it would be New Year´s Eve here. What are you eating this year? As it was for Christmas, It would be nice to find out what people around the world have for New Year.

Regards.

Gin mostly

I'm sure we'll eat out somewhere but nothing planned as of yet.

Happy New Year.

Driving up to LAS so dinner with my buddy. Buffalo wild wings sort of thing. Then after fireworks we hit White Castle to absorb the alcohol. New years day brunch next day! Not sure which casino.

Roast beef and Yorkshires for lunch then mostly brandy following that......although it's been suggested that some light stuff might be a good idea later on. I'll make some sandwiches and maybe even a few nice burgers up early evening for those who want them.

Plenty of beer and some liquor. Maybe some of the lauded Andre Spumante champagne, too.

Champagne, cheese tray, chocolates, scones, and more champagne. We do not leave the house because there are too many drunk drivers.

One more thing, maybe a few people here have heard of this already but for those here who might not have, this is tried and true - if you're going to drink plenty and don't want to wake up with a hangover, drink a stupid amount of water at least half the night. Obviously food has its uses, but at the end of the night when you've ended up trashed, water is the only reliable friend you've got to get you out of a guaranteed hangover. Right before you go to sleep, even besides all the other water drinking, drink a whole bunch more water. It's about 30 seconds of "damn this kind of sucks" compared to 18 hours of hell the next day.

Chinese food, Followed by Asbach German Brandy

I'm torn between Indian or pizza. The advantage of the former: will likely eat it all in one sitting so I can begin the new year clean. The advantage of the latter: it's cheaper.

Tonight: a small champagne bottle (one serving) prior to the new year. I'll toast with my cat while watching Netflix.

Tomorrow, I'll likely go to a Japanese restaurant before dreading Tuesday and going back to work.

I had smoked salmon with potato salad for starters.

Main course was chicken in a Chinese style mushroom sauce with jasmine rice and veg

For afters, movenpik vanilla ice cream.

( the Cathay Pacific ZRH - HKG economy class meal last night) and it was very good.
