California Democrats want businesses to give half their tax-cut savings to state

Sun Jan 21, 2018 3:25 pm

SACRAMENTO — California lawmakers are targeting the expected windfall that companies in the state would see under the federal tax overhaul with a bill that would require businesses to turn over half to the state.

Another reason people want to move out of California. They treat people as if they are cash cows. I wonder how long Silicon Valley will stay in California.
Why endure the nightmare and congestion of LAX when BUR, LGB, ONT & SNA is so much easier to fly in and out of. Same with OAK & SJC when it comes to SFO.

Lord all the teeth-gnashing this has produced because TWO GUYS introduced this into the legislature. How many bone-headed Constitutional amendments get proposed every year by representatives from both parties? Lots. Nothing to see here folks. The link provided even spells out how next to unlikely this bill is to pass, requiring 2/3 majority in the California legislature before going before the populace in a referendum. Sounds like a bunch of people falling for a headline.

Unlikely legislation is passed all time in California. It may not make it the first, second or third year but they will just keep reintroducing it until it does. By that time, there will be a new governor, handpicked by California Democratic elites, who will sign it. That is how it works here.

The dems have no supermajority in California. This bill is DOA. Anyone that signs this bill would cause issues, as many companies would move out of state for headquartering.

Yet a mediocre condo in a mediocre part of San Francisco still sells for way more than a 5000 square foot mcmansion in flyover country.

One of my nephews has owned a condo in SF for about twenty years. He is remodeling and selling because of the tremendous uptick in prices there. All the predictions of the right about California crashing do not seem to be too accurate as usual. I guess you have to be a Redneck in poverty low wage states to suck up the bullshit from the right.

The very same for Washington State. Now we will have to pay carbon taxes.
