but the real question is it one space or two spaces between each sentence..

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/spe ... 3148dd6d6c

In the beginning, the rules of the space bar were simple. Two spaces after each period. Every time. Easy.

That made sense in the age of the typewriter. Letters of uniform width looked cramped without extra space after the period. Typists learned not to do it.

But then, at the end of the 20th century, the typewriter gave way to the word processor, and the computer, and modern variable-width fonts. And the world divided.

If you don't put two spaces, you are dead to me :) And don't get me started on the Oxford comma!

The correct font, BTW, is helvetica.

I hate that my phone, when I end a sentence with a non-period punctuation, adds an extra period if I double space after the punctuation. It makes me want to throw my phone across the room and scream "PHONE, DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO GRAMMAR!!!!!!" I like double spacing between sentences....it looks too jumbled if you don't.

I agree. For almost all public use lettering you cannot go wrong with Helvetica.

No, it's Times New Roman unless it's for a headline for which Arial is the font to use.

Wrong on both counts; for, as has been established, the correct font in fact is New Century Schoolbook, and Arial must never ever ever ever ever be used, for it originated at the evil empire that is Microsoft.

Individuals desiring to use Arial must, after a course of psychiatric treatment, use Helvetica instead, after verifying that the situation calls for it (i.e. directional signage in public transit and other transportation facilities).

real type setting knows about different spaces for different context
and careful spacing adjustment not only per letters but also for letter combos.
"T.a" gets slightly less space than forex "B.a".

"two spaces" is a constant spacing mechanical typewriter thing.

Even in this day of electronic communications, it still makes reading easier to have two spaces after a period. Even as I type this, I am putting two spaces behind my period. However, the site does not understand that because this site's text program code was written by people who were not taught properly.

And that's another thing: you kids have to learn things like cursive and diagramming sentences. They give your brain a really good workout. Now get off my lawn! *shakes fist*

*painfully serious eye roll*

You are all wrong... Microgramma Modern with 0 (100%) kearning and 1.2 line spacing is the correct font. /s

No really I find these discussions quite amusing... As someone who reproduces Airline logos as part of my hobby, I have played with more font options that I can recall... there is no right answer to the "right" font question ever is all I've learned. Can you read it? If the answer is anything but "Hell no it physically makes my eyes hurt" to the majority of the population then it's not the wrong font.
