What Trump and it appears you are not fully understanding, is that Iran is a nation, a recognized international participant on the world stage with allies, and agreement and, though some in the USA dispute it, a real governmental process in place for its people to govern the county. ISIS has none of that.

Nations Iran (and yes even North Korea) are very different from entities like ISIS which has no allegiances or real "form", ISIS is more infection like, just growing and consuming what was once healthy tissue etc. There is no real controls in place to work with it. You can not partner with anything like that. Like an infection all yuo can really do is work to stiop it and remove it so something healthier can grow.

The world is full of gray areas and nations that are friends that we don't agree with on many fundamental levels and others that are not friendly that we do agree with on broad swaths of things but cannot accept other parts.

I'm not optimistic they will. This is the bed the GOP has made for itself. By all accounts, the country is skewing left. The GOP is so desperate to hold onto a power in a country whose demographics are shifting, they've happily sold their soul to extremists.

The car market share numbers Trump is quoting are complete nonsense.

When Trump first claimed Germany doesn't buy american cars, Opel was still owned by GM (prior to his election). And if you add Opel's & Ford's market shares in Germany, we get to a double digit percent number (roughly 14%). German cars in the US only account for a signle digit percent number (around 8% I believe). So in reality, Germans buy more cars from US companies than the other way round. The manufacturing location is irrelevant since German companies also produce in the US.

Same with the claimed trade deficit vs. Germany, it would be balanced if you included Services (not just goods). Sadly Google, Apple, McDonalds, etc. transfer all their profits as part of so called license fees to Ireland or Caribbean islands, so they don't show up in the official trade balance between the two countries. Certainly not Germany's fault.

Sadly Trump voters don't seem to care for the truth :sarcastic:
