Suspect taken into custody in mail bomb incident.

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/flori ... story.html

"A man has been arrested in Plantation in connection with a dozen bombs sent to critics of President Trump, capping an investigation into a bizarre series of attacks launched two weeks before the midterm elections.

Police source said the federal investigation tracked a suspect to Plantation, near Broward Boulevard and State Road 441. The U.S. Department of Justice said one man was in custody and a press conference will be held in Washington at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

FBI agents and other law enforcement officers in a commercial parking lot were examining a white van, covered with pro-Trump stickers. They covered the van with a blue tarp, loaded it onto a truck and drove it away.

The suspect was reported to be in his 50s, with an Aventura address and ties to New York City, according to CNN."

Looks like the suspect left far too many clues, and law enforcement was able to track him down. Hopefully we will find out more later today, but i am glad this is over with no deaths so far.
It seems like these devices were designed to scare more than kill, but we will have to see what the FBI reports on them.

//sigh, was a bit too late posting it. Can be deleted

Let's not suppress the news.

Hmmm.

Right-wing paraphernalia in van.
Democrats with targets over their images.

Yep. Sounds like a false flag operation to me.

Waiting for the other side to comment but I’m sure they’re still writing down their talking points from Fox, Breitbart, Drudge, and Stormfront.

“There was a disturbance in the Force as if 1,000 conservative voices cried out all at once when the van pics were shown. Unfortunately they weren’t silenced.”

Where should I start....

1. Florida Man. Blame it on the "Sunshine Law" or "Just a lot of peeps down in Florida", maybe something IS seriously wrong with the water down there :duck: :duck:
2. I thought I've seen some Trump drones, talk about taking it to the next level on his van.
3. Countdown to the "but he has mental illness" explanation. I mean, that's the "excuse" they use every single time it's a white middle-age man doing something crazy (Although, to be really fair, it's actually plausible, or else why would he vote for the certain golfer in the first place :duck: ).
4. Countdown to "false flag" BS, as if records of the dude being a "register Republican" is not enough, they'll just argue that Soros is the one that brought that van and give it to the (suspect) bomber.
5. It HAS to be the Florida water. Or the Florida Sun. Or those alligators. Or just...whatever.
6. Actually, now that I think about it even more, it HAS to be a Drumpf supporter. Dude is not even smart enough to build those bombs correctly. He should have wait for those Middle Eastern in the caravan to arrived in US to teach him a thing or two about making bombs that actually do damages :duck: :duck:

They're waiting for a pardon so they can say that since he isn't guilty there's no proof he did it - and then continue with the false flag theory.

What a freaking whacko holy smokes.

Was listening to Andrew Wilkow and Jonathan Gillum on my way back to work after lunch and they are both commenting on how ridiculous the van looks. So over the top.

Hope the guy fries.

We'll have to see what they charge him with. I doubt he will get the death penalty, but many years for threats and terrorism related charges. This will be on top of his previous charges which should make it quite a length sentence.

Yeah, I think his previous history of bomb threats made it that much easier to catch him. I know he won't get the death penalty for this, but one can hope.

Do you really believe that sending prop bombs to people should be result in a death penalty? You seriously want to execute the suspect for scaring people?

Do you seriously not get that he intended to kill people? To disrupt our political system? Yes he should fry.

The devices were hardly props. Some were "unstable" enough that the bomb squads detonated them rather than transport them.

Not really anything out of the ordinary. Many people go over the top with stickers on their car. There used to be a car around Portland that had some Pacific Island type shrine on top with all kinds of stuff all over it. Flowers and feathers and ceramic birds. A 1980s Nissan Sentra, IIRC. Another car, I think in Santa Rosa, had doll heads all over it.

I see cars and trucks around here all the time filled with Republican and MAGA and Confederate and gun stickers. All on the same vehicle. I just roll my eyes and move on. I don't agree but none of my business.

Call it a little tin foil hatish, but I personally don't like to advertise my allegiances to anything so that people don't get some sort of preconceived notion about who I am.

It's always funny when someone finds out (often weeks later) that I'm quite conservative.

"but you said you enjoyed your uncles's gay wedding just the other day?!?!"

"And this is why I don't advertise my politics "

My car has a license plate holder with the name of my alma mater on it. The only decal is my parking permit.

Recall that bumper stickers are (by design) difficult to remove and may affect the vehicle's resale value.

Anyway, I hear the guy is a gay body builder who runs some male strip clubs. And he's Latino. Not exactly the demographic I expected...

I think this guy is short of a few quarters of a dollar. He has a criminal record so his prints (and probably DNA) are in the FBI Files. That makes things easy for all law enforcement. So what do we have?

Day 1: The bombs are discovered.

Day 2: The bombs make their way tot he FBI Labs at Quantico (SP?)

Day 3: The jerk is arrested in the morning.

It's no surprise that the bombs failed.

And it is nice that such a horrid attack totally failed. I believe that the minimum sentence by law is 30 years in a Federal prison, Now that sets a good example for those would be copy cats.

Congrats to everyone working this case, from bomb discovery to to arrest. That was a job well done!

From all indications he was struggling living out of his van in a parking lot and taking a cold shower every day at the beach according to locals close to where he was parking.

Free food, clean clothes, hot shower, a bed and friend in a nice federal facility, he may think he has hit the jackpot for all we know.

Just keep telling yourself that.

That's about the same line you use for people living distressed lives who accept food stamps or involved with the child welfare system.

Yea, right!

That is an ubiquitous line that right wingers have been bandying about for the 50 years that I know of. The fact that you used it in regard to a jail experience makes it 99.9% for certain that you've used it before. But I don't have a list of everything you've ever said or written, so of course I lack proof.

Do you deny ever having used that term, or a similar term in regard to welfare recipients?

For some reason, Alex Jones is still on the radio. I thought he was a financial drain, but that is neither here nor there. He is now insisting the REPUBLICAN bomber is actually a Democrat based on a whole slew of screen names that Alex Jones saw and some of those screen names link to people who lean left. That was all I could hear since it was an AM station far away

When "mobs" show up for an Obama rally, they know they will not hear small words and hearing one man demanding that he and only he can fix everything while blaming literally everyone but himself and MAGA crew.

BTW, why do Republicans insist on claiming how unhinged and violent "liberals" are while, at the same time, insist that "liberals" want to ban all guns? If "liberals" hate guns so much, why are they allegedly being used by "liberals"?

Wrote new lyrics to this U2 song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBQdZle85cU

One man sending bombs that kill
One man in a van
One man hearing voices in his head
One man mad they fired Roseanne

In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump
In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump

One man out to kill Pelosi
One man after Joe Biden
One man thinks he got away with it
One man doesn't realise the search will widen

In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump
In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump

Early morning, October 26
FBI surrounds a stickered van
Yeah bitch, you going to jail
Guess that wasn't part of your plan

In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump
In the name of Trump
One man in the name of Trump

In the name of Trump
(oh-oh-oh-oh)
One man in the name of Trump
(oh-oh-oh-oh)
In the name of Trump
(oh-oh-oh-oh)
One man in the name of Trump
(oh-oh-oh-oh)
