Former Delta President Jim Whitehurst to get possible BIG paycheck!

Tue Oct 30, 2018 1:46 am

From BusinessInsider.com:

"Here's who will get richer when IBM buys Red Hat for $34 billion" - "Red Hat President Jim Whitehurst could make over $72 million from the deal."

Something tells me that things worked out very well for Jim, when he left/or got let go by Delta!

Good. He deserves every penny. He and Gerald Grinstein saved Delta. They brought Delta through bankruptcy and got the airline profitable again. He was a leader that was loved by the employees. I wish him nothing but the very best in life.

The phone servers I work with run a modified CentOS, and I've learned Linux partly on Red Hat, however, 34 billions is astonishing. When you know how Linux was started...

Fantastic. Congrats to Jim and his family. This has nothing to do with airlines except for the fact that he won’t be flying commercial any more.

Good for him. I have a ton of respect for him and wish he was still at Delta in some way. Jim, Ed and Glen would be a hell of a management team.

Ed didn't even bother to show up to ATL during the power meltdown.

Anderson was not at Delta when Whitehurst was. And Anderson had nothing to do with getting Delta through bankruptcy and getting them back in the black. Anderson came along after Delta emerged as a healthy airline. Anderson is the exact opposite of Jim Whitehurst. He's a man who only cares about himself and said so many foolish and controversial statements during his time at Delta. He left Delta and positioned himself to be Hillary's Secretary of Transportation. Now he is at Amtrak...
