The correct Pepperidge Fahm cookie

Wed Nov 21, 2018 3:34 am

is the orange Milano cookie, see.

Its rise to correctitude is a mildly interesting story; it rose to the top of the ranks within Milano cookiedom, at a time when its only peers twere plain chocolate, and mint. During that same moment in cookieography, Pepperidge Fahm also offered a mint Brussels cookie, which held the title of Correct Cookie because A) Milanos, fine cookies though they be, were in fact too popular, too mainstream, too center-of-the-beaten-path, and 2) the mint Brussels of course had more flavor to it than the regular ol chocolate Brussels cookie.

Indeed, it was the mint Brussels' mintyness that conferred Milano cookie correctitude upon the orange yes ORANGE Milano cookie; for what need had we to confer either type of correctitude, Milano or cookiedomwide, upon two different cookie types with both being the same flavor?

Then, some years back, for reasons never to be understood by rational beings, they stopped making the mint Brussels cookie. This, with ironic simplicity, caused the orange Milano cookie, the longstanding Correct Milano Cookie and therefore heir presumptive to the Correct Cookie throne, to accede thereto.

And we rise, and incant:

LONG LIVE ORANGEVS MILANVS COOKIVS!!!!!

(Even if mint is still kinda tastier.)

I never met a Pepperidge Farm cookie I did not like. I like them all, but cannot eat them these days. Type 2.
