The correct Christmas song

Thu Dec 06, 2018 2:55 am

is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

A melody as lovely as you like while still being modest and neither maudlin nor hokey or shrill.

I’m sure I just read this as the correct Christmas snog? I had a long winded and wistful answer lined up but alas you mentioned a song and music isn’t my strong point.

When I was 3/4 I had a seizure because my body/brain temperature became too high and I had to spend both my birthday and Christmas in hospital (over a month) with a big wire net on my head checking I was still normal (as normal as I ever was). I received a gift of the cassette of “Merry Xmas Everyone” by Slade/Noddy Holder. I was the first music I owned and that song stuck with me for ever.

The First Noel. Sung by a lady with powerful lungs. It seems like in all of the modern recordings of this song the artist is on Ambien and can barely get it out. The song was written for someone who can hit the high notes.

My wife's is silent night.

Edit to add, if interested in a non-traditional cover of christmas songs, check out Pentatonix's album "PTXmas"

Both the traditional French carol, "Noel Nouvelet" and its English rendition, "Sing We Now of Christmas."

I have to go with Christmas Canon Rock- Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
The old Jennifer Cella version is best but there are others.

Hell no. What kind of asshole family lets their drunk grandma walk home by herself in the snow on Christmas Eve? First, is it even critical for her to go home? She might want to partake in the morning activities, just give her the guest bed! Or, if she does really need to go home, no one can give her a ride? Seriously, reindeer or Santa, her death is on the whole family.

You misunderstand; she went out on the walk on her own volition. She was looking for Little Red Riding Hood, who had gotten lost in the forest...

You also don't know for sure that the woman wasn't a blathering, vicious, despicable gigab|+ch who got what she deserved.

Responsible people don't let her walk out on her own, especially if she's drunk. You make sure she ends up in a good place. Like I said, F her family, and that disqualifies it from being the correct Christmas song.

That could be true, but apparently she was in good graces enough with the family to be included in Christmas activities, so they at least have some level of care for her.

Or they might just be in her will.

Any of them that people now find offensive. Like Santa Baby, Baby it’s cold outside...nothing like watching offended snowflakes melt in the winter.

Hey guys,
My absolute correct Christmas songs are
"You'll Know It's Christmas" by Deacon Blue
"Little Bright Star" by Diana Ross
"Last Christmas" by Whan
With a shout out to Pet Shop Boys' 'It Doesn't Always Snow at Christmas Time"
Cheers,

There is only one song at the top of this for me:
"Bring Me Love" by Marié Digby

Yup, I'm a sop, but I love this damn song at Christmas.
