Emotional Support Chicken

Tue Dec 18, 2018 7:44 pm

We've all heard the stories. It's all too common that a non-av topic gets posted in Civil forum that mods have to move. They are almost always about emotional support animals on airplanes.

Well, worry no more.

The emotional support chicken is here to save you thanks to Popeyes. (this is not an advertisement or an endorsement of any kind of any specific restaurant or franchise)

Coming to an airport near you! (If you live near Philly that is)

Not sure what is worse. People bringing Popeye's onto planes or support animals.

However the carton is funny.

I am not a fan of support animals, but I have to agree, very clever and funny. ;)

I'll be sure to bring my emotional support mashed potatoes. I'm sure they'd get along just fine sitting next to each other.

Anyone have emotional support corn?

Airlines can welcome this emotional support...chicken!

Wed Dec 19, 2018 12:36 am

Must say whoever thought of this is a genius!

Popeye's is offering an "emotional support chicken" to make holiday travel easier. Love it!

I fly out of ABE and gladly take connecting flights specifically to avoid having to trudge down to PHL, even if in doing so I'd get direct flights... but this kinda makes me want to take my next business trip through PHL just to get one of these. I'd totally save the box, too.

I want that at every airport. Of course, partially as friend Chicken is one of my comfort foods.

Finally, a comfort animal I 100% agree with. Extra spicey please. :)

Love me some fried chicken. Too bad it's just tenders.

I wonder when the chronically offended will go all "SJW" on Popeye's for making light of those who travel, or try to travel, with emotional support animals?

Totally heartless and uncaring! Why shouldn't people bring their kangaroo, pig, pony, peacock, turkey on board (just a few of the ES animals I've heard of)? Oh, we Australians are disgraceful, we don't allow ANY ES animals on board, at least in the cabin, but then again, maybe our doctors are not so corrupt as to sign off a turkey as ES. Sorry, did I say corrupt...?

OMG, I love this so very, very much.
Personally, I wish Popeyes would extend themselves and make that great box in dog, cat, pig, turtle, cow, llama....

Better not let PETA know about it. They're going to protest about this :duck:

What? You mean I can't bring my ES Koala and ES Wallaby on board? I guess I'll have to settle for Extra Spicy Fried Emu :stirthepot:

P.S. Nice play by Popeye's. Too bad there's not even one near where I live right now :cry2:

Now, if they can sell that in HKG (Which has the one and only Popeye's in Hong Kong) I would be happy also.

I also hope they include aspirin with the chicken, all that fat makes a perfect combo for a good old thrombosis

Give it 48 hours. I’m sure PETA and ASPCA are in a back room somewhere plotting. Something about cage free spinach is likely.

And of course PETA has come out with a statement!

But PETA isn’t laughing.

“#Popeyes is selling boxes of dead ’emotional support chickens’ for the holidays, proving they’re not above mocking mental illness AND animals who died gruesome deaths.
