I have seen wacky stuff as flight numbers, IHATEAA as an example on FR24. I guess whoever is putting it in thinks it's a little way to stick it to the man.

I guess that could be a bit more normal since it is not as obscene as a straight out "FUCK YOU" lol. Are they allowed to do this?

It isn't. It's the "flight number" inputted to the FMC Some pilots don't realize that it is transmitted through the Mode-S/ADSB transponder.
I've seen funny stuffs before... along the lines of... YouSuck, HateYou, LoveMum, Single, Cheated, Hungry, Unpaid, PoorPay, etc, etc, etc, etc... (of course, usually in another language)...
One carrier here where I am used to have a lot of those...
When losing situational awareness, pray Cumulus Granitus isn't nearby !

It's ADS-B. Aircraft equipped with ADS-B can enter their own callsigns (that's the future replacement for transponder beacon codes). Since ADS-B won't go live until at least Jan. 1, 2020 in the US, some pilots are entering custom callsigns as a joke because ATC can't see it. FR24 and other tracking websites will see it, however, because they track using ADS-B receivers.
