You have to vote for someone other than Trump or Biden. You can't sit it out. Who do you vote for and why?

I think I have to go with Booker. The others are just too extreme and I think if he got into power he would at least try to govern with the other side somewhat. I would also vote for Schwartz if he got on the ticket.

That being said, if it was those two on the November ballot, I would be tempted to write in Nikki Haley.

From the current candidates: Buttigieg on the Democratic side. If they were to run, Larry Hogan on the Republican side, with John Kasich a close second.

Tulsi Gabbard seems like a take-no-BS person. And as stated earlier she seems to bridge the ideals of both sides well.

The only thing I don't agree with her on is her stance against the TPP, but at that point I'd vote for Congressmen who line up with her bit still favor the TPP. Personally I'm for the TPP as long as China is out of it.

Any rules saying she'd have to drop those roles? That does remind me that I was a little annoyed to hear that she got a nice kickback Boeing director role after she gave Boeing a nice sweet deal to open up shop in South Carolina. But I can't blame her or them for doing so. And she's already had a very high position in the Trump Admin, that didn't affect her reputation much. Might not like her politics or positions but I thought she handled herself quite well at the UN.

TPP is a good way to keep AFL-CIO in Trump's camp. They were against it when Obama was negotiating for it. And are still against it.

It's all still early to say who I will vote for. At this point my dog gets the vote over Trump. Other than that I will have to wait and see.

If being SOS (and under Trump) got her high paying positions which it likely did, why do you think having VP on her resume too would make that less likely in the future? If anything it makes her more in demand.

Mike Pompeo is well liked as secretary of state and he has already stated he intends to remain there and not run for senate here in kansas (where he would be an automatic win for republicans - trust me they are trying to get him to run). I think he plans to remain as SoS so he can launch a presidential campaign for 2024.

It'll be Pompeo vs Haley in the 2024 primaries. Mark my words.

You need to understand that people run for president and office not so much to win but to get famous and thus get jobs. Not to mention I think Haley has aspirations for more elected office and if she becomes VP the sky is the limit.

A good question, but I just can't seem to get excited about any candidate at present. Perhaps as the field narrows a bit and their respective positions become a bit more finite, then things might change.

I'll go along with your choice of Booker on the dem side and Einsteinboricua's choice of Kasich on the GOP side. Both would reach across the aisle and at least try to make some compromises - Lord knows we are in dire need of that.

I'd prefer Tom Hanks... (maybe if I keep bringing it up, it'll happen). I'd vote for Nikki or Condi, too.

Out of the current crop, but without Trump or Biden? Wow... I guess Tulsi, unless Kasich or Bloomberg officially enter the race, and then it'd be one of them, in that order.

Seems like Kasich is a popular choice in this thread (Not that I mind voting for him...hack, I voted for him in the 2016 primary despite knowing that he has absolutely no chance). He's definitely more conservative than Republican in general portray him as, though (But then..."Sensible Conservative" is definitely a dying breed).

P.S. Andrew Yang needs way more attention than he's getting now. Selling UBI would not be easy, though.

As I noted I do have some personal angst in regards to her ties to Boeing. But it's a minor quibble and is likely more of an issue for left leaning voters than right leaning voters.
