The correct post office

Thu Jul 25, 2019 7:18 pm

Is the Kingston Post office in Austalia

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-06-14/ ... ce/8616228

It is simple, elegant, beautiful, and functional without being overly big and pointlessly extravagant. It serves its purpose and has nice architecture
Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

...is one that is along the route of where ever I happen to be going if I happen to need a post office.

IDK I kinda like the post office off Watson in Shrewsbury. Every Time I've gone it was empty and straight forward to do what ever business I couldn't get done from my living room.

The one located at 611 W 63rd St, Chicago, IL. This one was built on the site of HH Holmes's "Murder Castle".

Former central post house in Stockholm. We don't have post offices any more in Sweden though.

The main post office in Portland is across the street from Union Station. The ZIP code for Coos Bay Oregon is 97420 and the western most satellite post office is very near two dive bars and a sushi bar. You're welcome.

It's been a while since the last "correct" thread - good to see the concept revived.

I can say that in the US, the correct post office is whichever one I don't have to go into and deal with the counter personnel (or "person" since there is almost never more than one at the counter even when the line goes out the door).

I love dive bars as much as anyone. But if that is all there is, I keep moving. I need like shops and restaurants and parks and festivals and galleries and history. Dive bars are good but stuff is better.

They are the correct type of thread.

We don't seem to have the grandeur thay the US post offices have. This monstrosity is the main post office for the town I currently live in.

And the smaller post offices these days are usually a small kiosk in the back of a kwikEmart style convenience store.

But without all the grand buildings, at least Royal Mail has its charming and helpful staff to rely on. Oh wait...

Fair point, although I have read posts about people going out of their way for a better post office on here

(former) postoffice in Utrecht, the Netherlands, all post offices are closed now. It will be a library, so it remains a public building. Pictures speak for themselve: rest my case
