Solstice is awesome but getting old. Best part though is that things like the cafe on deck 5 have free pastries. Way less nickel and diming than expected.

Australia or Alaska?

Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Imagination is well...interesting, but better than nothing and is good for short cruises to places ships don't usually go like Catalina island and ensenada

Guess the ship is very well maintained+kept? Very new still? Not that old. Only 11 years.

Went on Celebrity Eclipse a few weeks ago, a 9 year old Solstice-class ship. Well maintained and clean. Some surfaces *starting* to wear out, like ever so slightly faded carpets.

Well kept for sure. I guess it isn't that old, just old for the RCI group, but they like to keep the ships in tip-top shape, even the old ones so it should be good. Maybe I felt it was showing its age as I was spoiled by the reflection on the cruise before. I think it is due for a refurb very soon, maybe even before you leave.

Royal Caribbean has several ships that are over 20 years old still in the fleet.

I took a cruise this month on the Majesty of the Seas on July 3rd and the ship was in good shape despite being 27 years old. In Cozumel the Carnival Fantasy was docked nearby and from the outside it looked in real bad shape.
