Thus far it has reminded me more of siblings playing the "I'm not touching you!" game wherein one will put their hand or finger as close to and in as annoying a location as possible to the other without actually making contact, all the while saying "I'm not touching you!", i.e. a clear and painfully obvious manipulation/baiting tactic. These potentially violent clashes are costing cities like Portland millions of dollars for police, loss of business, vandalism, health care and sanitation costs, discouraging people from peaceful use of their cities. These 'causes' and reactions are further dividing this country, they are destructive, not constructive.

Other than the misleading title, there is nothing in the FBI testimony text referring to KKK or other of the white supremacy groups that are actually on the decline. The last KKK rally I have heard of was in Dayton Ohio and 9 (nine) KKK supporters showed up and were booed by at least 600 people. These violent right wing protests were never a problem until the white supremacists decided to attack Portland. Portland had some terrible mayors. Neil Goldschmit and Sam Adams were terrible, IMO. Yet, there were no violent right wing white supremacists making death threats and beating up random people when they were in office.

Oregon has a racist history. Once you leave the Willamette Valley, it is Republican, yes, but parts of the state are very racist. Josephine County, in southern Oregon, was one of the last places in the country to do away with "sundown laws". There are still too many around the state who fly the Confederate flag. There is a movement in southern Oregon called "State Of Jefferson" that is evolving into racism. It had been a good idea when it was first conceived but, now, the same people who fly the flag of traitors and MAGA stickers and guns and all of the typical right wing extremist props are also very much invested in State Of Jefferson.

Long story short, these violent right wing white supremacists will not get any air time if they were to protest anywhere outside the Willamette Valley because they would not find anyone to beat up. They would find support.
