Rest in Peace Eddie Money

Fri Sep 13, 2019 4:20 pm

Man..I grew up listening to Eddie, and well it shouldn't be surprised as I am 49 and our favorite singers from my old days are dropping.

I will be listening to Eddie on Spotify today and think of my younger years.

I never knew what the song meant "Two Tickets to Paradise". He dated a gal many years ago and he wrote it based him wanting to take her to someplace special. He didn't have a ton of money and was doing gigs around his hometown at the time. Well, it couldn't be Hawaii or anywhere far away so, he took her to the Redwood Forest in California and took a Greyhound Bus. All the years I heard this song I had visions of this rich rock star taking his girl to somewhere tropical and spending money her. This was far from what I ever thought this song was about.

Fond memories of Eddie Money - saw him way back in the 70's - was 2nd in a triple bill: Blondie, Eddie Money, Alice Cooper. Put on a good show, had a great band.
Many years later, I vividly remember popping "Two Tickets to Paradise" into the cassette player in my car (remember cassettes anyone?) and turning the volume up to 11 when I picked up my girlfriend for our trip to Hawaii

What a bill! Really need a time machine...

Wow, that’s crazy that’s one of my favorites too. I was just listening to that song and posted it on my Facebook page.

I’m listening to his music tonight.

This is my favorite video of his, it is classic 80s, hot girls and fast cars. I never knew the reason why the girl in the video looked so much like Apolonia until I read the comments. This song came out two years before she became famous.
