Chernobyl Reactor Room Opening to the Public

Fri Oct 04, 2019 3:42 am

Here is an article that talks about the nuclear reactor at Chernobyl opening to the public soon. What I understand is that tourism to the Chernybol Exclusion Zone has increased significantly since the HBO series Chernybol was released in May this year.

? I have been there about 12 years ago, no problem at all. You receive about the same radiation dose of two X-arrays.

It is quite an impressive place to visit.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

I would rather not trample on the grave of Valery Khodemchuk. From outside the building, looking at the sarcophagus, maybe.

In fact if I were to step foot in Ukraine, I'd probably head to Donetsk & pay my respects for the MH17 dead instead of Chernobyl.

The increasing popularity of Chernobyl could help tourism in Ukraine recover after the Ukraine Revolution, Russian annexation of Crimea, and conflict in Eastern Ukraine that includes the downing of Malaysian Airline Flight 17 all in 2014
