Woman in love with 737-800

Sun Oct 13, 2019 12:49 pm

MEET THE WOMAN HAS BEEN IN LOVE WITH BOEING PLANE FOR FIVE YEARS

A woman says she’s been in a five year relationship with the love of her life - a passenger jet she calls 'darling'.

Michele Köbke, 30, from Berlin, Germany considers herself in a relationship with the Boeing 737-800.

Michele says she’s been in love with the aircraft for five years and their relationship is very much physical.

She said: “The 737-800 is very attractive and sexy to me. He’s the most beautifully built, and he’s a very attractive and elegant aircraft.”

She even nicknamed the 737-800 “Schatz” which translates into “Darling”.

Well this is certainly interesting. A quite unusual case of 'objectophilia' !!!

It's quite fascinating that she has fallen in love with such a specific model and type i.e. not just the 737, or a 737-700 or -900 but specifically an -800 series. It also seems to be that the she has such strong affection not for a particular airplane but for pretty much any and all 737-800's !!!

I have no idea if this is the appropriate forum to post this in, so mods please move as appropriate.

I feel like her, a little less intense, but extrapolated to all kind of aircraft.

I could probably "date' the Dash 8-400 or the FRJ Dornier 328 JET

Wow. I thought the article was Boeing propaganda given the MAX commercials, but after reading it and seeing the video, she’s really smitten with the 737-800. She evens sleeps with a replica.

I know just how this thread will go so here's my take;

there once was a lady from Berlin
who enjoyed both Whiskey and Gin
She fell in love with a 737
cause of how she rode it to heavn
and back with big ass grin

Ah yes, I had a suspicion that this probably wasn't the first that anyone had heard of this. British tabloids have a habit of recycling old news stories. Nothing came up in the search function though.

Although there is a new development in this story in that the video shows her visiting an actually 737-800 in the hanger and getting a good feel of it from the outside ;-)

Quite funny how she says she's a bit shy at first ha ha !!!

Well, seems as if size matters after all. I guess she will leave her lover once the 737-1000 is available...

Would be surprised if she fell in love with such an aircraft:

She's actually cheating on her love in this video: the SAS bird she's touching is SE-RES, and that's a... 737-700! I wonder what poor old 737-800 thinks about his love fooling around with his little brother...

Aren't all aircraft usually referred to as a "her" or a "she"? Don't we normally think of the airplanes as "female" when we refer to them e.g "She's a joy to fly".

No. Some, most, but not everybody. For me it's an airplane, it looks great, it's confortable to ride, or not, and so on. Since I speak French too, the airliners is male as there's no "it".

She might be sexually attracted to the 738 (and screwing around with it), but at the same time, she's also dating the 320 for its money (while not necessarily being sexually attracted to it).

The 738 gets the sex, while the 320 has to earn it.

At times, she feels like the 320 is using her for sex...but doesn't complain when the 738 (ab)uses her for just that. However, the 320 must pay its way and endure endless mind games and loyalty tests just for maybe a monthly piece that she really doesn't want to give.

But she realizes that while she still has some youth and attractiveness left within herself to secure a provider of economic and social resources (that the 738 is unable to provide) before her "expiration date" passes, she keeps the charm on the 320, hoping one day soon for a ring...While still getting on the side what the 738 CAN provide her.

So the ring from the 320 comes, the resources are officially locked up as represented through a license with the government, and yet she is not happy...The 320 provides her a nice cookie-cutter roof outside the city with a picket fence and a pool, a fancy car, 2 wonderful children, and takes her to all corners of the globe. But there's still something missing that the 320 has never been able to provide her...

She cherishes her memories of the 738 back in the city, and even occasionally still "meets up" with it. (When she's really supposed to be "out with her friends".) She begins to feel a strong dislike swelling toward the 320...After all, thinking to herself as she drives to her hair appointment in her Mercedes, "it's what took her out of the city and therefore be 'forced' to spend less time with the 738, right?"

It must be all the 320's fault. And she's going to make it pay.

If you find you're pregnant with a CRJ 200, most states allow for an abortion of it.

I am with you. The 737 is absolutely my least favorite of all airplanes used in commercial aviation today

If size did matter, she would be platonically in love with an A380-900 I believe...

Confirmed! I thought it looked a bit short and sure enough it's a -700! Bahaha. In love so much that she can't recognize the -800 vs the -700.

No, I was more assuming how we as a general population think of the airplane's gender.

you know, the B737 is too short.
the B739, although very rare, is too long.
we all are pretty much B738s. but at the pub, with friends, we are all A346.

But secretly, everyone of us is madly in love with the Carvair... the true queen of the air...

Knowing objectophiles on teh interwebz, it's interesting to hear about their lives. If our kind of love is normal, then how so? What makes it normal?

Haha yes, after I posted that I thought about the Dreamlifter actually. (mainly because I saw it later that day)
