Goals for 2020

Tue Dec 31, 2019 8:42 am

So it's the last day of 2019 (and the 2010s) so what are you anticipating for in 2020? What did you accomplish in 2019 and looking forward to in 2020?

2019: It was a pretty crappy year for me, a continuation of a crappy period that started in September 2015. I was looking for a job basically the whole year, fighting a combination of Toronto-centrism and ageism. Finally, things moved forward and I received an offer in December.
2020: Looking forward to the new job. I'm starting on Jan. 6. I have a lot to learn, but is seems like fun. Can't wait to start.

Congrats on the new job! Hopefully, you find it as rewarding as you think it is going to be and some more.

2019: started a new company and 2020 will look forward at building it bigger and possibly starting another one.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Would like for tourism in Egypt to fully recover and Pakistan to be known for it's natural beauty and beautiful structures rather than as a terrorist hotspot. Pakistan should be known like people thought of the country before the attacks on 9/11 in the United States.

For that, the security must improve in both countries. Especially in Pakistan, there are a lot of extremist elements. Not a country on my list to visit any time soon.

I'm going on 5 years of marriage with my wife, who is Venezuelan, and I've still not learned Spanish. I hope to be able to make time and have the patience to get that 2nd language under my belt.

What is the suituation in Egypt like, because I know Britain lifted the Sharm el Sheikh flight ban a few months ago and the Grand Egyptian Museum by the Giza Pyramids is opening this year.

You should visit. One of the best places I’ve ever worked. I haven’t worked with many finer people (and I’ve worked with a lot of fine people around the globe). And the scenery is beautiful.

We have security when we work in Pakistan because we stand out as foreigners. But I’d rather work there any day than in India where we don’t have security.

In all seriousness Pakistan didn’t have a stellar reputation before 9/11 either.

2019: new job, new place, new experiences. But fell short of having a SO to complete this journey that we call life. Fell victim to the Seattle Freeze (I don't know about you, but it's real).

2020: tighten my belt a bit, lose weight, and hope that I can find Mr. Right.

2019: Turned 65, Traveled to Portugal (where I had never been to before) and Madrid-good trip. Health ok. Got a real nice raise in my salary.
2020: Usual goals of losing weight and more exercise. Less time on-line. Be more productive at work. Another trip to Europe (as with last 3 years) and possibly to Las Vegas & region. Prepare for retiring from full time work in early 2021.

Handed in my notice today, I've been employed by a competitor, I'm now sitting in my office waiting to be booted out the door. I feel like 2020 is going to be a fantastic year!!!

Working on getting healthy again is my overarching goal. It seems every time I think I have a handle on my health, I suffer a set-back.

I can't seem to stay out of doctors' offices.
