Humorous Sayings and Humorous Cliches on A.net

Fri Jan 10, 2020 2:37 am

I've been reading and commenting on here for about two years and I have to say that I think we're funny...
As done with some friends, its quite fun to collect all these sayings and I've found a few gems on here recently... with likely many more all throughout this place.

I've started to collect a few here at this open link and invite anyone to share anything light, funny, of humorous said on this site on the editable link or below and I'll add them to it.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1arLt1cEKbjfyTATKDxBip9KRrZno3crJLNG--CAU8MA/edit?usp=sharing

Thanks everyone most of all for sharing really interesting aviation news, and for the humor you have while you're at it!

"The moderation on this site sucks. Look at all these posts violating rule xxx"
Mod looking through the thread two weeks later, "Did you ever bother hitting the report function"
Original complainer "No"
Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Nothing a bit of speedtape won't fix (when talking about a fairly damaged/destroyed aircraft).

It's a write-off (when talking about a minorly damaged/aircraft).

When will NW (then DL) retire the DC-9?

New service in MIA (to anywhere)

Somebody's profile on here says, "If assumptions could fly, Airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport."

STLGHP Haha. Love all his cynical posts, especially the ones that come after someone who is sure they have heard an airline is announcing IND-Anywhere unrealistic.

Everyone who complains about flying American and how they'll never fly on them again yet somehow keeps ex-plat status and never has trip reports on any non-OW airline. I think that actually describes a large chunk of a.netters

That dude had to be on the spectrum.

I did love all the threats of personal lawsuits anytime a poster said anything other than glowing, endearment for the 764.

Is it safe to book my AF/BA/LH mileage run before the next strike?

When will DEN get more TPAC?

Why doesn’t X carrier serve MEX??

When will X carrier open MIA-TYO??

The ME3 are ruining my favorite airline it’s so unfair waaaaaah

Favorite noob question: I’m under 25, was Kai Tak dangerous?

Too bad it's hard to put the 6-runway EXT in word. Actually, any airport design that the OP of that (chunhimlai) is worthy of Hall of Fame.

As for cliches...

1. DL will never buy from Boeing again.
2. Got an old plane? DL will buy it.
3. (Old one)Making A380neo is going to make A380 sell 10x more than right now.
4. EK must be losing tons of money, and is only surviving b/c Dubai is bailing them out. Screw what all the auditors say.
