As his obit shows, a very complex man to put it mildly.
But when were the very straight laced, or even boring, ever such pioneers in music or other areas?

My introduction to Rock'n'Roll, was by way of Paul McCartney & The Beatles in 1964. I love their cover of Little Richard! RIP

For me, it was his appearance in the movie "Down and Out in Beverly Hills"

That was great.

No doubt Little Richard was one on of the great founders of rock and roll, especially in his flamboyant performances and appearance. His style influence runs from Elvis Presley to Prince. Indeed he was a complex person, bisexual, alternating from religious to a full blown sinner. Sadly like many Black artists, he likely never got the credit or money he deserved due to racism. He was one of Black performers who despite the 'Jim Crow' racism of hie early career, brought Black music to acceptance by White audiences. Now he the newest member of Rock and Roll Heaven.
