Top of the Hub in Boston Permantely Closed

Sat May 16, 2020 3:14 am

Top of the Hub Restaurnat on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower in Boston permnantely closed in mid March due to the coronavirus, after originally planning to close April 18. The Skywalk Observatory, also owned by Select Restaurants was also planned to close on April 18 and was closed in mid March. The original closures were announced in January due to the decision by Boston Properties not to renew the lease. It is very sad to see a Boston icon of 54 years close.

Eh. Crappy overpriced food, you’re just paying for the view. The space isn’t going away, hopefully they will turn it into something more accessible. In the 11 years I’ve lived in Boston I went exactly once.

The restaurant and observation deck are undergoing a renovation project that is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

The food wasn’t very good. For a date night on occasion I’d bring a date there for a drink or two before dinner at a better restaurant.

The Skywalk Observatory was a very popular tourist attraction for Boston.

Sounds like most tower based restaurants - only worth the trip for the view (although it does depend on which tower you visit in my city).

I've visited Boston 3 times now as a tourist and it's never made it onto my list. Perhaps flying in each time I've never felt the need for a tower based view....

Tourism, what's that?

Seems those who get turned on by this kind of the thing still can go to The Top of the Cock ( https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_ ... setts.html )....
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
The heart has its seasons, its evenings and songs of its own

A renovation is planned for the Prudential Tower observation deck and restaurant with reopening scheduled in 2022. Also, the John Hancock Tower should have it's observation deck reopened as it is a huge money maker.

I think we went on a field trip in middle school.... about 20 years ago for me... I assumed the view isn’t much different than the area with cocktails?
