Updated: Biden officially secures enough electors to become president

Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:35 pm

Surprised this thread was not started already.

Let's keep it on topic. States coming in. Etc.

Let's not discuss exit polls. They just muddy everything.

KY so far has Trump in front. No shock.

If you don't talk exit polls then when can you expect results for various states ?

France 2, the "main" French public TV channel in France, watched by millions, is in "US election night mode" since 8:45PM here, thus 2:45PM EST, that's a lot of time to fill until there is anything concrete !

I'm going to take a stab at this - Trump will win outright with a bigger majority, everyone deliberately gives false information to polling groups these days.

Trump claims he is ‘entitled’ to know results on Nov 3rd. Guess he slept through election season since ‘84

Yes, I am sure your biased hunch is a better measure;-)

Pollsters have upped their game considerably, and the turnout should tell you something is coocking.

And no, it is not to little Donald John’s favour.

Mayve some decency have returned to the US?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but to be fair to Trump, it's been widely reported that he said "US is 'entitled to know' winner on election day" Now, having defended him, I'll point out that of course this would require a lot of postal votes to not be counted. :scratchchin:

The big problem for pollsters is that they have no record or proven models for early voting and absentee ballots. This election has the largest number of those in history.

Exit polls are meaningless if half the voters did not go to the polls on election day, heck in Texas it may be 2/3 of votes were cast before election day. And what was their polling data on the day each person voted.

In Texas half the counties do not have any automated process to count absentee ballots. Some of those are big counties which tens of thousands of votes cast. They expect to be up all night counting those ballots by hand.

It may be prudent to use one’s source for calling. Different outlets have called states at a different pace.

Some of the major pollsters are claiming they have included early voters and in-person in their exit polling.

I believe this to be true in the case of candidates like Trump. Many are too ashamed to admit that they vote for people like him (rightfully so...).
It all depends on how well pollsters have adjusted to that effect since 2016.

My eyes are on the 'Electoral Map'. In CNN, it is currently trending towards Trump with 37 and Biden 30.

Nothing official yet but definitely looking like Florida for Trump. Don't think there's a way for Biden to make up 300k votes with 89% reporting.

For me right now, TX is the state to watch, I figured it would go blue in 28, but right now, it could go blue this year, very interesting. It looks like the big cities got out and voted.

CNN has confirmed that Biden has won NY. So, the Electoral College now stands like this, 59 to Biden and 42 to Trump.

SMH has Biden 119 to Trump's 92, with Trump having 50.18% of the votes to 48.49% of Biden.

If Trump loses despite having more votes, that will be interesting - will he protest it? ;)

Could just be because the states that have been called for Trump are redder than the states that have called for Biden are blue.

Well it’s hardly unprecedented. And any Republican who is dumb enough to actually complain about that should be laughed out of town.

The betting agencies here indicating that the punters think Trump will win big, again. More reliable than all the polling groups put together.

It seems like all the 'Traditional Red And Blue States' remain loyal to their respective parties in every election no matter what.

I thought this time atleast, some of the traditional Red States like Texas would turn Blue. But it is looking unlikely.

Uh oh, the senate is looking to be kept red, and Trump win likely as if the polls again were wrong.

The democrats “trifecta” seems less likely.

No results for Pennsylvania tonight it seems, unless the margin is large enough for 400 000 mail in ballots to not need counting : https://twitter.com/hollyotterbein/stat ... overage%2F

Since when was OH on play? TX, GA, or any of the other fake swing states the MSM said were on play?
Trump is going to win FL witha bigger margin than 2016. That tells you something abour the polling.
