Trump is going to win FL witha bigger margin than 2016. That tells you something abour the polling.

According to the MSM. Biden was going to win OH, FL, NC, PA, TX, GA etc

It's another indication that polling organisations haven't got a clue and even despite all the claims that they've smartened up, it looks like it's going to be a massive landslide victory to Trump.

Trump Is leading in MI and WI.

Basically its a repeat of 2016 at this very moment though it could still change.

The thing is polls were extremely wrong.

This errors can be criminal, the Democrats raised hundreds of millions on races that werent competitive such as in SC and KY.

People will not ever believe in polls ever again.

The polls were not extremely wrong in most places. Where they were wrong, folks will look into why. As posted in another thread, if the polls MOE was 3%, Biden could still win while losing Fl, NC and TX. NC is within the margin of error, TX and FL look outside, but as the cities counts finish, those final numbers will tighten.

MI and WI leads are nothing right now. They haven't counted the cities.

I wouldn’t count Biden out just yet, he’s currently up by 8.6% in Arizona with 75% of the vote in and the Rust Belt states haven’t started counting in earnest yet.

Indeed. I do not know where all this optimism is coming from, especially when places like PHL are only 35% counted, in this moment. I do believe 45 will keep OH, but it will be well back into MOE before this is over.

So far it looks like Trump has held the white, working class vote that Biden was supposed to do well with. The suburbanites moving to the left and the Hispanic vote shifting right to varying degrees.

I tend to think the suburban strength will be enough to get flip the three “blue wall” states but it’s going to be very close. I just hope we don’t end up on 269-269.

It’s gonna be very close, for sure. The polls once again proved to be mostly BS thrown by the MSM to fit their narrative. Nate Silver was clearly wrong about Trump having only a 10% chance. Looks reasonable to see McConnell remains majority leader by 1 or 2 senators.

If we read some of the comments elsewhere, voters didn't like Biden because he had "socalistic" views - ie, the same as Cuba.

"He’s not a politician. He’s uncouth. He has no tact," Ms Hidalgo told the Times. "But I don’t like the fact that I feel Biden and the Democrat Party at this point is leaning toward socialistic views. I don’t agree with that. That’s what my father left his country for."

Maybe he should have gone full free open trade, no regulations for companies, mass out-sourcing, off-shoring, no workers rights, etc to secure the votes of these people.

The irony is some of the ideas of Trump are socialist. :banghead:

I guess some of these people need a 1 year holiday in somewhere like North Korea to learn what its really like. Too much living the good life in a fairly well to do western country.

Trump is walking away with it.

I am so disappointed in the Democrats. Buttigieg had what it took. He would have wiped the floor with Trump. You go with talent. The people who made the decisions at Democratic Party headquarters were too busy sniffing their own farts to know anything about winning this election.

In the coming days, I fully expect the Democrats will continue sniffing their own farts, and ignoring the reality that a better political platform would have easily won this. But they really don't care. They are only into (well I mentioned it twice already).

In PA Philly is barely counting anything. Same goes for MI (Detroit) and WI (Milwaukee).

It could be as close as 271-267 anyway with Biden flipping AZ, WI, and MI, along with NE-2 and ME-2.

EDIT: Throw in GA and Fulton County also. But GA always lean Trump in polls anyway (by 2-3 points).

The only polling miss so far is FL anyway. NC is close as expected, TX is Trump +3 as poll suggested (it was always a long shot to turn Texas blue anyway). We will have to wait and see whether Biden is really ahead in MI by something like 5 points or WI by 3-4.

The margins by which Trump is ahead with the rural vote in MI and WI are likely enough to maintain lead in both states, and certainly at least one, when DTW and MKE come in.

Right. MI & WI just started counting mail-ins a few minutes ago. As those represent about 350,000 votes in each state and tend to favor Ds, trumper celebrations are indeed premature, and not heavy on math skills.

Time to go to sleep.

Wisconsin, Michigan , and Pennsylvania won't know much until tomorrow.

Most of the early votes haven't been counted in these states, and it will take a lot of time to get it counted.

In Georgia, Some of the counties are going to come back and keep counting in the morning.

Yes. There’s a reasonable chance as most of what’s not yet counted in Pennsylvania is mail in votes, which have trended strongly toward Biden in PA and really the whole nation.

Same is happening in Michigan and Wisconsin. Slow count of mail in ballots since counting couldn’t begin early like in Florida.

Not only that, but they are almost exclusively urban, as it is PHL & Monty Counties showing the most left to be counted, and the strongest Biden leads. I fully believe PA will take until at least tomorrow evening —likely Thurs— before they are counted. 45 knows this too; he would not have fought so hard to prevent that if he thought the mail-ins would be a reflection of the central/western day-votes.

Similar story in GA & MI...

I would tend to agree, but of course this is a political / moral opinion on my part. Opinion which is no more valid than the ones held by those who vote for Trump, who are in their full right to disagree with it. I will say two things. If Trump wins, to me it is a clear sign that the American presidency is no longer viewed by Americans as a "ceremonial" position of any kind. Trump supporters will vote for the man even if he defecated on the US flag. The other party supporters will vote for their candidate even if he or she did the same. This means this vote has become exclusively a poll on having the personality to drive the political views of the voter forward against the opposition, and otherwise on actual governmental policies. It is no longer a vote about character, integrity, or decorum (which I don't care what any Trump supporter says, he has no integrity and no decorum). That is what many Trump supporters like, in fact. He breaks the rules. But then what you have created is nothing but a glorified Prime Minister. In fact, it is increasingly clear the US has no head of state, as Trump cannot be viewed (and is not viewed) as a head of state "de facto" by most government officials in other countries (in their unofficial personal opinions). He is just a politician.

The other thing is, I feel if he wins Trump will definitely just let loose, if that is possible, both because of the actual victory and also because he no longer must worry about another election. So whatever you saw the last 4 years will be amplified even more in the future. That means a much deeper and further radicalization and polarization, of that I have no doubt. And now, Americans do not have the excuse of saying "Oh I didn't know Trump would be like this", or "I didn't vote for him". No. Just like Americans blame entire nationalities from other countries for their poor choices of leaders, and that whatever happens is "deserved" based on that choice, no longer can Americans be shielded from the same injunction.
