Re: finances - Donald Trump has shown an incredible ability to survive major financial reversals and come out on top. I would not bet against him.
And I don't like him.

This makes no sense. Trump took this aircraft secondhand about six years after the 757 production ended. It replaced his 727, which was secondhand as well. He would have had no way of ordering the 753, nor would there be any practical reason to do so.

He was referring to the -300, which has about 500nmi less range than the -200, and is generally not capable of TATL. The 752 is more than capable.

The C-32s have P&W engines. I'd be surprised if they bought one with RR engines. His personal 757 has RR engines. Anyway, responses to the original question seem to be mixing his personal 757 and AF1 aircraft.

Must be, but the 742 has all the command post equipment installed. Pilots must be ready for a Holiday after the last few weeks!

In addition, for some missions, military cargo aircraft can be used for executive transport. The famous "Texts from Hillary picture of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton using her Blackberry was taken aboard a C-17, onto which a SLIP (Senior Leader In-transit Pallet) was loaded. There is also a converted Airstream trailer called the Silver Bullet that is used as an executive transport capsule aboard military cargo aircraft (although the Primary is not permitted to sit in the Silver Bullet for takeoff and landing), and a SLICC (Senior Leader In-transit Comfort Capsule) which was to replace the Silver Bullet and be certified for all phases of flight. Typically, the President would not use these, but other senior Administration officials (SoS, SecDef, etc.) might.

One of the prototypes, LV633, Ascalon, was custom-built as the personal transport and flying conference room for Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Ascalon was to be fitted with a special pressurised "egg" so that VIP passengers could be carried without their having to use an oxygen mask. Made of aluminium alloy, the enclosure had eight perspex windows to reduce claustrophobia. It also had a telephone, an instrument panel, drinking facilities and an ashtray with room for cigars, a thermos flask, newspapers and books. Testing at RAE Farnborough found the "egg" to work satisfactorily. {...it was never installed}

No doubt the Secret Service will have the final say on that...even as my post was removed and the thread closed.
