1000s of Pro-Trump extremest have breached the US Capital Building in essentially an act of terrorism to stop the Constitutional acceptance of the Electoral College vote. The VP has been evacuated, persons in the Capital and adjacent buildings are under 'stay in place' orders. There are confrontations with guns drawn by police. Some asshole actually got into the Senate Chamber and sat in the seat the VP was just in an hour ago. Pres. Trump is doing nothing to curb this act of insurrection and terrorism. There will be a hard curfew in DC as of 6 PM. Police are overwhelmed. VP Pence must invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office, take over the office of the President and call for an end of this riot by any means necessary. I am afraid we are going going to see some dead people by tonight.

Virginia and Maryland deployed their National Guards before DC did but supposedly now the White House has given in and allowed the deployment of the DC National Guard

Trump had started out as having been defeated in an election. That was unpleasant for sure, but in a democracy that is not dishonourable at all.

Cruz will run or attempt to run in 2024 but I don't think this will do anything to effect his chances. He really didn't have much chance before.

The government isn't slipping into anything you speak of. When Biden takes office he will have congress. It will be then where he will have to govern and congress will have to pass real legislation that helps this country. Your deciding vote in Joe Manchin has gone on record to say he will not support any radical partisan bills which means they will not pass. So instead of the talking points and name calling and hyperbole we will have to see the real thing from the democrats. Leadership. I sure hope we don't see the daily Trump attacks and culture war crap. There is no more excuses. It will be all out in the open to see. They have two years.
