Don't know how Jake Angeli's horned buffalo costume made it through TSA (joke), but he did get home to PHX somehow. That's where he was arrested, according to the 'Arizona Republic'. He turned himself in to the FBI at their Phoenix field office.

I keep picturing those horns catching on the sides of the metal detector. Maybe if he went in sideways?

They didn't ACT like terrorists, they ARE terrorists. I don't care what anyones political views are, storming buildings and killing police is terrorism.

Hard to be sympathetic for the guy, who knows what else he's capable of doing, or planning to do, to make a point. For many Americans, their politics is their identity. But actions need consequences and IMHO there should be a common level of decency and respect for the law, especially when it involves the Fed's. Don't like the law, run for city council, or office, to get it changed.

Good for the airline -- the level of decency I write about needs to be addressed in the cabin, too. Sit for a few hours, relax, quiet, respect others. Rant over.

He probably flew out the same day, or the very next. Those who might have stuck around in DC are the ones apparently stuck where they are.

There are two issues. One is that as many as 50,000 to 100,000 may be placed on the No-Fly list. All who attended the protest and not just the rioters are being placed on the No-Fly list. Many not suspected or charged with crimes are being put on the No-Fly list. If this sets a precedent, then any protesters can be put on No-Fly lists.

Liberals should be careful what they support here. The next time a conservative wins the white house he could put left wing protesters on No-Fly lists.

Why are these guys such snowflakes and whiners? I thought I saw flags at the riot saying ‘F your feelings’. The victimhood complex is strong in this movement.

Agreed, there is no indication this is charging people who were peacefully protesting outside. They have the right to do so.

You are aware that the current government, at least for the next 10 days or so, *is* conservative, right? Its still Trumps administration - they are the ones doing this.

I’ve long been critical of the lack of transparency and due process for when someone is placed on the do-not-fly list. There needs to be a formal and fair process to appeal.

That said, when you try to violently overthrow the US government, of course the US government is going to put you on a list of terrorists! Are these people such entitled narcissists that they think they’re somehow immune to consequences?

Likely those added to the 'no-fly' list are those so far identified by Capitol security cameras, other video recordings, some id'd by citizens from publicly put out videos by name, arrest warrants put out or.already arrested for violations of law inside or outside the Capitol building. That may mean 100's are on the no-fly list pending court hearings for felony level and terrorism charges that warrants their placement on the no-fly list. .

There was a guy at the Delta ticket counter, that threw a fit, when they told him he couldn't fly. I was thinking that's the least of his problems, wait until he finds out the FBI calling him a terrorist.

Part of the cost for attending a insurrection. It's amazing to me, that these people thought there would be no consequences for there actions, they just hop on a plane and fly home. I don't know if it's sunk in yet, those caught, won't be able to go on vacation anymore. They can't fly to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean. They will have to settle on getting to places by car, train or ship.

Liberals? why are you blaming liberals. Trump appointed the director of Homeland security and he the one who placed those on the no-fly list.

All they have to do is gather the flight manifest for the last three days, pull their cell phone numbers and ping who cell phone numbers was at the insurrection, that's about 2,000 people not 100k. Then all they have to do is match their photo to those breaking the law, you know like killing a policeman. They weren't wearing masks, they were taking lots of selfies and posting them on Parler because they were so proud of what they did. This was a slam dunk.

It is not a criminal act to demonstrate in US law, is it? Where did criminality start - when demonstrators went into the grounds around the Capitol?

It is not a crime to protest. It is a crime to riot, and destroy federal property.

The MAGA crew needs to remember that thousands were arrested and charged for destroying property in the summer protests. The same will occur here, but being federal property, there is a lot more issues at stake.

That's precisely what they do in China to people whose thoughts or words are anti-Party.

But, I am all in favor of doing it to people who crossed the Capitol barrier. They should be in jail for around 10 years, eating their food from a metal cup. So the fly ban is really incidental.

It is not a criminal act to demonstrate in US law, is it? Where did criminality start - when demonstrators went into the grounds around the Capitol?

Probably people on the no fly list should be referred to a nearby security office. And the no fly list should provide a reason why they are on the list. I understand the no fly list does not list reasons, and some have been mere name similarity (or has that been corrected?). Also a person should have a right to a timely appeal, as another poster suggested. At least some people on the list(s) have been confronted with impossible situations. A flight desk person/attendant should not really have to be the person to deal with this.

A person appealing needs to have at least some rights to know why it is happening. In certain security cases obviously it should be via an approved attorney to protect seriously classified information. In many cases such persons wanting repatriation should get a one flight exception on a planned flight with security people aboard.

In the case of rioters, have a friend buy a cheapo used car and drive them home. This is what some stranded 9/11 travelers did.
