AmeriStarRail wants to privatize the NEC

AmeriStarRail wants to privatize the Northeast Corridor currently owned by Amtrak. AmeriStarRail claims that they can make high speed rail more affordable and offer more rail options to passengers. Operate to 30 new cities and towns. Maintenance center in Delaware adding 150 jobs.They would want to use compartment style seating :ill:

We simply would be setting ourselves up as a company, much like in the airline industry, where you have various private companies operating routes for the major carriers, like American has American Eagle, or United has United Express

Personally I'm against this. Amtrak already has a maintenance center in Delaware with 1000 jobs. Privatization would hurt the passenger rail experience and for that matter look at cargo rail.

I'm all for the other private operators adding service to the NEC but not like this. Maybe the government should own the rails not some private company

Good for sleepers not good for just regular service. No thanks on this.

Also, it would be.more appropriate to achieve.HSR along NEC by building new track
