I knew he was very elderly and that it probably would happen, but I’m really, really sad. On top of all the COVID upheaval and mess, this hurts.

When I was young I’d watch F1 late at night listening to his great commentary.

RIP Murray. :(

Aaaannnndddd there goes....

Often passion over accuracy in his commentating, but the man was a legend. His relationship with James Hunt produced one of the all-time great commentating teams. Forza Murray!

RIP Murray!

His voice commentating, and not only F1, is such a core part of my Motorsport enjoyment over decades.

Lewis Hamilton wrote a very nice tribute to Murray Walker. Lewis, like me, also grew up with Murray Walker as the voice of Formula 1. I have a “few” more years on LH though. ;)

Martin Brundle too paid a nice tribute to his friend and colleague. It must have been an incredible experience and a privilege to share the commentary with someone so iconic.
