Both. Coffee in the morning (and sometimes early afternoon) is a must...tea is nice with dessert. Aussie and Kiwi girlfriends are to blame for getting me into tea.

My mother never allowed me to have coffee as a child, so I never picked up the coffee habit from her. It's tea for me, either ice lemon or with milk

The tea is usually Irish breakfast.

Weekend mornings usually start with 3 espresso over breakfast, tea in the afternoon

What about the third option Hot Chocolate!!!!!

Wake with an Earl grey tea, (2tea bags to the pot). Then maybe a Yorkshire tea ( the best) one cup, one bag, mash it bun it and add a drop of milk. After about 7:30 am I have coffee, black, about 80ml servings. At about 1pm I’ve had about 5 of those and then move back on to Yorkshire tea for the remainder of the day.

There is no tea or coffee, it’s both.

As for hot chocolate, I have a 4 year old daughter so we do make hot chocolate regularly...Kiwirob, do you like marshmallows too?

2 Dilmah extra strong bags per cup with milk. have around 6-8 a day. only drink coffee if out, as nobody can make tea the way I like it. Lemon & Ginger Tea before I go to bed.

Tea is just hot water with some weak flavor !

When I was in Vietnam and it was very hot, some green tea was good.

Coffee is life-essential, tea is something warm and cozy to drink in the evening when it isn’t apropriate to drink wine.

I drink green tea when I first wake up and switch to black tea within an hour or so and then iced tea in the afternoon. I switch to hot tea at night again and then herbal tea in the middle of the night as biphasic sleep is my natural sleep pattern most nights and how we're wired to sleep (before the invention of the light bulb and industrialized world ).

My favorite black tea now is Cinnamon Express by Celestial Seasoning. It's very light and almost tastes sweet but it isn't and I never sweeten tea. I love the box too with the train on it. I found it at Walmart and thought perhaps it was a holiday thing but I was able to order a case on Amazon.

Iced double espresso for me, thanks. Tea if I'm in the UK.

Tea with first breakfast
Tea or decaf coffee with third breakfast
Coffee after lunch
Herbal tea after dinner

Coffee. Black coffee. Usually a dark roast, but I'll enjoy a variety.

Neither.

Like others here, I drink both. Coffee when I wake up. Coffee through the day. Chamomile Tea, while sitting at my desk anytime after midnight.

But, I must start my day with coffee.

A few years ago, my wife asked me if I was willing to give up coffee for Lent. I told her that the sacrifice endured is supposed to, in the end, make me a better person. I asked her if my skipping coffee in the morning would make me a better person? She never brought it up again.

I believe Italian style coffee is known in particular for strongly roasted beans.

Both! Though for me it's typically coffee in the morning, strong Vietnamese coffee during work breaks. A good cup of tea is always welcome though!

I'm fine with a dark roast (although it's not my strong preference), but have never had a good coffee at Starbucks or using Starbucks beans. I assume it's because the stores mostly sell coffee flavored milk drinks so it matters less? I've had good and sometimes great espresso in most of the statesa I've visited in the US.

Normally:

Hot Chocolate during breakfast, unless it's a particularly early start in which case it'll be a coffee.

Coffee when I get into work whilst I look at my to do list and decide what to prioritize. Second coffee if it looks like the day is going to be hectic/stressful.

Water for morning tea.

Weak coffee for lunch.

Hot Chocolate for supper and often another before bed.

Today I had my first coffee since giving it up for lendt. I feel it has been a positive change so will try to keep it up. I'm also trying to limit myself to one Hot Chocolate a day since there is tonnes of sugar in them. Unfortuately I've not been having a lot of success with that sadly.

Best ever Hot Chocolate was at Maranello, Italy at some quaint little roadside cafe. Best ever Coffee was in Tromso, Norway during an arctic snowstorm.

Tea, sans Caffeine. Coffee is just gross and does gross thing to me. Caffeine also does not agree with me at all, which is for the best I don't really need to have a chemical addiction if I can avoid it.

It depends on your preferences, but if you want to be correct, use 50 ml of water for every gram of tea.

Why don’t you use that link yourself before you post measurements next time? We are an international crowd here. The most of us have to comunicate using a 2nd language, can’t you guys at least do the small effort of using world standard measures?

LOL - can't stand Starbucks, they're a last resort for me. For home I buy Seattle's Best. They used to have shops in the area but all gone now unfortunately

I was always led to understand that the proper tea ‘cup’...and coffee, for that matter...is 6 ounces. For the record, if you give me 6 ounces of coffee, it better be espresso, Greek Coffee, Turkish Coffee or Cuban Coffee.

While, I tend to agree that we, the USA and others that may use non-metric measures, should have gone to the metric system long ago, it is still easier for me to think and visually a cup as 8 fl.oz. rather than ~240ml. And, as such will almost always refer to measurements in non-metric fashion. As I expect those that use the metric system will refer to items in metric.

Lately I have a preference for tea.

Generally

- Yorkshire Tea taken with a dash of milk, no sugar.
- Lipton again dash of milk, no sugar (Not as good as Yorkshire, but it's what is in the tearoom at work.)
- Twinings Green Tea with Lemon taken as is. (A good energy boost for the afternoon)

Sometimes I'll get a barista coffee generally a flat white or a mocha with 1 teaspoon of Sugar, but I can't do instant coffee.

I rarely have tea, usually only when traveling for breakfast or iced tea (with only a small amount of sugar) in the summer where I live in the USA. Never got into coffee. I love the smell of fresh ground beans but despite several tries just can stand drinking it.

I asked people in a coffee plantation if they prefer tea or coffee. They said they drink coffee only in the cold season, maybe four months a year. Coffee is a cold climate beverage.
Then there is Robusta versus Arabica. Arabica plants are a bit fussy. They need more care and are more difficult to irrigate. Arabica is much more expensive, but Arabica is mild on the stomach. I once switched from 2 liters tea a day to maybe half liter coffee a day. It was Robusta and my stomach collapsed.

I have to make little advertisement:
Karnataka in India has many beautiful places. Travelling through coffee plantations is a real highlight. Just South of Karnataka is Oouty. It's a tea plantation, but in the area there is interesting natural vegetation, eucalyptus plantations and also some vegetables fields. Trekking around Outy is beautiful, but one needs a guide who can arrange overnight stays in farmers' houses.
Madikeri is the place to visit for coffee plantations. Not that other coffee places are less beautiful. But the hills around Madikeri have such strong slopes that Elephants avoid this place.

Then there is a boring town called Kushalnagar. There is a Buddhist temple worth visiting a few kilometers outside town. There also is an elephant sanctuary maybe 30 km (?) away. For two, three hours in the morning tourists can interact with elephants. Elephant caretakers sell bundles of straw. The elephants take it from your hand. I offered an apple to an elephant. They can't take an apple with their trunk. The caretaker told me to put it in his mouth. I felt no teeth, but I still got little crises when the elephant closed his mouth with my hand inside. So cool!

From Mangalore which has an airport take the train towards Bangalore. It has fantastic scenery wile climbing the mountain range Western Ghats. On top is Shakleshpur, a coffee town. Quit the train and visit surrounding Halebid and Belur in one day. Next day take a taxi from Shakleshpur towards Kundapur via Agumbe. Don't go back to the plains. At the forest checkpost just before the descend there is an artificial lake. Buy some puffed rice, rent a boat and feed the fish. It's a pleasant one hour stay. Have a look down the plains (half kilometer drive). Return to Shakleshpur. You can do this trip only by taxi, not motorbike. This is elephant area.
Beside Kushalnagar also visit Shravanabelagola. Climb the hill to the Jain temple early morning before it gets hot. Even the hill on the other side of the main road is nice to climb.
Mysore is on the way to Oouty. Mysore is among the best Indian towns. But then Indian towns are more or less all boring. If you like cities go to Prague, not India.
From Mysore to Oouty make sure you take the road via National Park. It's the best chance to see wild animals, including elephants. Most other National Parks in India are a waste of time, maybe Madya Pradesh excluded. I don't know.

Used to only drink tea (probably my south Asian genes) although my dad hated tea and only drank coffee. He would drink up to 7 cups a day and could still nod off in the evening without a problem. Lately, its been coffee in the morning to get me going, and another cup in the afternoon and green tea or oolong in the evening
