9/11 Families Still Waiting For Justice - Implore Biden Admin For Help

Fri Apr 16, 2021 7:20 pm

Here we are coming up to the 20-year mark on this event, and the families of 9/11 victims are still fighting for the US government to publicize known information and make it possible for them to take action against foreign governments that had involvement.

One really has to feel for these families, who endured a large scale crime but then watched as the Bush, Obama, and Trump administrations prioritized ‘national security interest’ and foreign relations over seeking justice for them. The families sent a letter to the WH and DNI Haines seeking long awaited transparency on the FBI’s Operation Encore investigation.

"Twenty years is too long for our own government to conceal evidence of Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks," the letter reads. "And twenty years is too long for our own government to treat us as adversaries with respect to these issues of transparency and accountability."

"A cloak of secrecy surrounding Saudi involvement in the events of 9/11 is contrary to our Nation’s most basic values — and a source of constant pain for our community that dishonors the memories of our murdered loved ones," the letter adds.

Nothing will ever be done. Too many inconvenient truths will have to be publicized.

So how much should the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of other nationals around the world be able to sue the US as unarmed victims of US foreign war adventurism throughout the world? I do not mean this to lessen concern those who lost family members on 9-11. Just wondering.

I doubt this will go anywhere.

Just think of the implications.

Also if this is released, what is Biden going to do as a consequence. Declare war on the Saudis

Well no, obviously nobody is calling for an unjustified declaration of war.

Just Devil’s advocate - what’s the worst possible result of this transparency in foreign relations? The kingdom buys all future weapons from Russia and starts trading oil in yuan instead of USD?

Probably. If that happens, we start fracking again and use our domestic capacity as we wean ourselves off of oil. Saudi Arabia then realizes that maintaining parts stocks for their Russian weapons is harder and the equipment isn't as good, for the most part. They become beholden to the Chinese and find out that the Yankee infidels weren't that bad, after all.

Uh yeah. As long as oil is worth what it is in the quantities the world economy requires, the US-Saudi alliance will stand. A few thousand families needing justice just is not enough to risk the total collapse of oil production through instability. (Think Libya) Sorry for them, "it's just business" as they say.

The alliance standing and providing some transparency to the families are mutually exclusive? I knew our 'friends' over there were sensitive, but this is snowflake territory, especially if only a couple of officials were involved. They can say whatever they want - they went 'rogue' or something. Surely they have the funds to fend off an international class actions suit that would be dismissed anyway? It's absurd to keep reports produced at taxpayer expense from the families' eyes forever.

This, it would be hypocritical if the US allowed its citizens to take action legal action against foreign countries, but refused to accept liability for what they have done. Basically the the US owes billions to the citizens of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria......

Not saying that isn't true...the right wingers have gone nuts at the mere suggestion of it over the years.

I just believe that's the US Government's position, and they won't change soon. They'll wait until the prime relatives die to release anything. And now, with crazy MBS in power in KSA, there is a lot to be worried about.
