Iran's Largest Warship Sinks After Fire in Gulf of Oman

Sun Jun 06, 2021 4:50 am

Iran's largest warship, the Kharg sank early Wednesday morning despite the best efforts of firefighters. The ship sank in the Gulf of Oman near the Port of Jask while on a training mission. Will be interesting to see what the results of the investigation turn out to be.

You don’t really think Iran is going to issue a report on how and why their vessel sunk? The only way for them to do so, is if Iran find a way to pin it on Israel and/or the USA.

Not their first nautical balls up recently;

This large support ship seems to be a fire, despite the temptation they might have to blame Israel and/or the US, they haven't, which suggests they were both the results of poor operation.
The vessel was subject to a lot of wrangling as it was completed after the Iranian revolution, shame it wasn't seized in 1982 and used in that unexpected conflict in the South Atlantic;

They have already converted an oil tanker into a "warship".

Third loss in just three years. The Iranian Navy has some issues.
