I couldn't see the NYT article but the ATF stats show me nothing of the sort. It shows me that, despite what movies portray, the vast majority of licensees are squeaky clean or just have minor clerical errors.

The only good thing about 2A is the letter. It's an amendment, and as all other amendments it can be repealed.

You should be the ones pushing for regulation then. As it's often said in other contexts you have nothing to hide right?

Alas....
You just don't get it. They aren't closing down more dealers because there aren't more "bad" dealers to close down. I know that some fall through the cracks but they are basically doing a good job. There are many fewer dealers than there were 20 years ago. They made it much harder for "kitchen table" dealers to stay in business.

I've seen similar written in most discussions on guns. "If we let them take our guns it'll be our freedom of expression next".

It was a ridiculous argument the first time I saw it and is no better today.
