The whole celebrity crush thing never made any sence to me. Like I understand saying someone's attractive but the obsessions people have make no sense to me. It makes even less sense now that I live in LA and all these people are datable and on the market like the rest of us.

Eve Arden, aka "Our Miss Brooks" both on television and radio, She could "throw away" a punchline like no one else. (For movie fans, she was Maida Rudledge in Anatomy of a Murder, a movie I recommend very highly both for the story itself, and the Duke Ellington sound track.)

Rosalind Russell (should be a tip-off for what comes below...)

Rita Hayworth (oh, dear me...!)

As I grew older I figured out I really "played for the other team", so, Sam Elliott. And, now departed: Richard Boone, Merlin Olsen, and Dan Haggerty. Nothing pretty or effete about any of them.

Funny thing about Olsen: when I got out of the US Navy, he was doing commercials for FTD Florists in print and on television. Big, burly man in a turtleneck sweater and full brown beard, selling flowers. Excellent use of cognitive dissonance. Except for my beard being red, our faces were identical. Lots of double-takes when I was out in public. He was so lucky to be as handsome as me...! :duck:

Agreed. But Charlize Theron has won an Oscar and I kinda feel she's bit more well known and achieved more fame than Watts where she is respected as a phenomenal actress and movie star. Heck, I think her performance in "The Devil's advocate" was Oscar worthy. That's the movie that made me fall in love with her. As for Naomi Watts I think it was crimminal that she was robbed of an Oscar for "Mulholland Drive". One of the saddest movies I've ever seen about how Hollywood is the place of shattered dreams and hope.

Ahhh - Winnie Cooper. Loved that show, Kevin Arnold was the same age I was in the show's time period. I had a crush on a neighborhood girl back then as well, it was just one more reason that show spoke to me so clearly.
So with the above establishing my age category, I go back a ways to name a couple celebrity crushes from my youth. Barbara Eden (Jeannie), Dawn Wells (Maryanne), Jan Smithers (Bailey on WKRP) and strangely Carolyn Jones (Morticia on the Addams Family).

Totally agree about Shawn Mendes-he gets hotter as he gets older lol. I'm not really into twinks either but Tom Daley is an exception for me.

I actually met and became friends with Dakota Skye, she lived in my apartment complex when I was in LA. Deep down she was a very sweet girl, but she just had too many deep emotional scars. I started to distance myself from her about a year before she passed away as she was getting too needy and her behavior was erratic. I always hoped for more than friendship, I even invited her to Venice with me but she turned me down.

A 'celebrity crush' can be more than how certain body parts are put together in a great way, but also their hair, eyes, teeth/smile, complexion, they way they talk but also their personality on and off screen. A person can be exceptionally physically attractive but if acts like their poop doesn't stink, are mentally unstable, their appearance phony due to plastic surgery, silicone implants, a hairpiece, the brains of a goldfish, a voice like cats screeching, abuse people in general or sexually, untalented, they are less likely to be a 'crush' and indeed be a turn off.
