From a report on Yahoo! this was in a mainly Black neighborhood and the alleged shooter taken into custody (sadly alive) is White, was wearing body armor. He apparently attacked some in the parking lot and then went into the store. 10 dead 1 was security guard who was a retired BPD officer. Security guard did land at least 1 round on the shooter but seems to of hit body armour. 3 other store employees were injured.

Location is Jefferson Ave and Riley St - Tops Market

Shooter is alive and in custody, 18years old white male.

He is from the southern tier of NY state (not more specific than that)

Arraignment expected within an hour or two on Murder 1st degree (I’m guessing 10 counts). FBI is investigating possible hate crime and terrorism.

He did live stream the incident on Twitch

There is a 106 page manifesto attributed to the shooter.

I've seen a few mentions of Broom County, so he drove 3.5 hours to do this, not unlike the guy that drove from Dallas to El Paso to shoot "immigrants" at the Walmart

As this appears to be racially motivated act, the arrested mass murderer will be for sure be prosecuted under NY State 'hate crime' statutes, likely they will find incriminating materials at his residence as to his hate. Already many Black leaders, the local NAACP branch leader, a variety of politicians calling out the apparent hate motivating it as well as calls for more gun regulations.

Surely it’s time to revisit the notion of a generic “latest US mass shooting” generic thread for the forum.

Those of us outside the US can only stay aghast for so long, and few in the US seem willed to do anything about the (on average) daily mass shootings.

I also heard from some CNN "analyst" he had threatened his school with a massacre a few years ago. I'm not sure if this has been corroborated since I haven't found it anywhere else.

He could have saved many lives, but failed. What is that old saying you're very familiar with "When seconds count, the police are hours or days away" Well here you have a police officer right there! You know, I heard a tall tale some time ago about somebodys family member being home alone when some Ninja's tried to break in, the family member yelled out they had a bazooka and scared the Ninja's away.
