Hi,
Just to say many thanks for the heads-up and for me I guess I like how these kind of movies at least still get a little big-screen time even if I find them often hard to get to... And maybe if curious a few further thoughts from here (sorry!):
1. For me the closest I guess I got was seeing Die Hard 2 on the big screen in the US and I think the night before a transcontinental flight. Wow looking back I was young and had no idea what anxiety was I guess then(!)
2. I think I read the Airport book maybe around 2002 and really liked it at the time. Maybe I should try and look for a digital version now if I can or try and rent the movie from iTunes or something similar.
3. In terms of cinema replays I think Top Gun 1 played here locally in the UK for an anniversary maybe around 2015? Would have been great but sadly saw it a few days after it was shown. But a long time ago I do remember going to Gone With the Wind in Santa Monica (CA) and whilst it was really cool it was very long and I think a few of us came out of the theatre around 1am maybe(!)
4. And finally regarding the retro disaster movies I kinda liked Rollercoaster I think it was called? And Meteor with Sean Connery. And the Airport movie where they raised the jumbo from underwater? But to see a movie for me like Out of Africa on the big screen that I would not say no to!
Anyway with many thanks only sorry for going on a bit,

P.S. Although it was not Airport and IFE I do seem to remember going on an overnight coach trip in 1996 speeding through Malaysian roads and they had the movie 'Speed' on the TV at the front.
