Everybody wants everything publicly all the time. And those affected by a crime think they especially are to be included on all things involved in a case that involves them somehow.

Heck, half the time those people are potential suspects, the other half of the time they leak or share what should not be shared, and then there is the fact... facts have not yet been determined, solidified. That leads have to be runs that affect totally innocent people that would be harmed if anything was said publicly, while also not alerting a guilty party that they are being discovered.
Good detective work is hard. And oftentimes is thankless because it does not always succeed in definitively catching or identifying the culprit(s).
What police go through to do there job is just not well acknowledged. Add in the public bias that can exist and we need to recognize how lucky we are to have the people that do the job, doing it. Not saying there aren't "bad apples" etc., but that statement right there alone is just painting with a broad brush and unfair, just added in because I feel I need to counter/acknowledge anyone who throws it out.
Anyway, this whole process of course still needs to play out and we need to see how good the detective work is/was and if there is a conviction etc. But for now:
