Trump said if he shoots someone at Time Square, people still vote for him, and he was right. The people supporting him are the ones who were left behind in society and they do not care anymore. And unfortunately, there are enough people in this group to tip the scale.

That was already a point of outrage for Republicans. "The Squad" are anti-Semitic, according to Republicans. How do we know this? They support a Palestinian state. I relate to that sentiment. In the Netherlands, we've got a small alt-right group/party called Forum for Democracy (just as democratic as the DDR used to be). I fundamentally disagree with just about everything this part stands for. But I do talk to its members and even call some of them my friends. I believe the solution must always be to keep talking to each other. And the funny thing is, if you peel away all the layers of complete bull, we fundamentally agree on how society would need to work for its citizens. I think it is important to know how the "others" think, their train of thought and see if there is some common ground to build upon.

The kleptocracy of the rich and their control over US democracy means that this will never happen.

Many of his candidates lost this election. The "red wave" turned into a red drip with all the MAGA election deniers as candidates. More important to show unity than character.
