It seems after the MSP incident this pillar of society saw a bag he liked at LAS and absconded with it. All on video so the case is pretty air tight. Wonder how long he will be on the lam. I guess the moral of this story is being a member of the LGBT community doesn't mean you can't be a common thief. I bet if they vetted this guy properly and didn't give him his position based on his sexual preference, they would have learned some interesting things.

Whether they picked the bag up by accident as they claim, believing it was mistagged, and then panicked when they got home, or whether they took it intentionally, it still amounts to a theft and the courts will have to sort that out.

In the meantime they've been placed on leave, in accordance with US policy for government employees accused of a crime.

However none of that has to do with gender orientation or improper vetting. They have no prior record. The law and the rules are the same for everyone.

The phobic MAGAs will have a field day with this, and unfortunately that is unavoidable. It's the risk of having minority representation at levels of high visibility. If they do something wrong, that will inevitably be appropriated into justification of prejudice.

I can have an opinion on how his hiring went down. Much like all the hiring in this admin I believe it was done on a token basis, if you want to feel it was merit based sure, I can see how you would feel that way so I guess Mr Brinton became a common thief overnight.

Security clearances follow a very specific process outlined by federal law. You'd know if you ever had to get one.

Right but the only proof we have of that is Nik's original post where he himself claimed that was the only reason this person was hired. No one ever heard of this person until now and, now, their sexual preference is being used against them. I guarantee if they had grabbed the right bag, MAGAs would not know who this person is and, therefore, not be outraged.

Their sexual identity is irrelevant. A thief can't be trusted, especially in a position like they were in. They should be immediately suspended, prosecuted and if found guilty, fired and sentenced.
