Thanks for a new thread .

Some items from the UK cruise market . Passengers were complaining onboard the new P&O ship over Christmas .

Furious P&O passengers claim cruise was so bad it totally ruined their Christmas

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/f ... 847245.amp

And Ambassadors Ambience had to cancel a few cruises and go into dry dock.

Ambassador cancels Canary Islands cruise for 1,400 guests

Here is the moment they cancelled the mini cruise prior to that .

Well… I’m sitting in Canada instead of on the Carnival Spirit right now…

We had to cancel our cruise over new years…

Sucks… really really sucks…

New Zealand, and Australia, are enforcing their pre covid enacted strict biosecurity standards on hull cleanliness, to enter sensitive waterways, and minor ports, those without an extensive underwater biosecurity monitoring program.

This, combined with a world shortage of dry docking capacity is meaning that some cruise ships are being turned away from some ports, and unable to cruise the Fiordland Sounds, because, either unacceptable biofoulling has been detected, or that required inspections have not taken place.

This is curtailing advertised itineraries with missed ports, and even days hanging out in international waters whilst divers clean the hulls.
Even the Queen Elizabeth has had to miss ports because of her dirty bottom.

The first Orient Express cruise ship will set sail in 2026

It will be interesting to see the interiors and more importantly the price range .

The Queen Mary will be reopening to tours on April 1 and hotel stays will resume May 12. The ship reopened to limited public tours in December 2022 that lasted until January this year after being closed since March 2020. This was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and critical repairs that were needed to keep the ship afloat. This certainly some good news here. https://lbpost.com/news/queen-mary-tour ... pen-in-may

Why no new ships for Crystal Cruises?

Sun May 07, 2023 8:19 am

Crystal Cruises is back. Great news.

Unfortunately all the river cruises and the Crystal Endeavor (now with Silverseas) are gone.

I wonder why they do not build something new similar to the size of Oceania Vista to sail along with Serenity and Symphony. To be honest both ships are a bit old. Why? Will they?

Fairly small boats and wildly expensive are doing Puget Sound cruises now. I saw two in our inlet from my boat last week.

Just booked a cruise for October 2023.

Flying to to Tokyo, to pick up the Norwegian Jewel for a 12 night cruise around Japan and Taiwan.

Never been with NCL before, so expectations are pretty even.

We're booked on the Norwegian Jade for the beginning of November. It's a LIS-NYC transatlantic with stops in Madeira, the Azores and Bermuda. Madeira and the Azores will be new territory for us.

Should Crystal Cruises introduce a new mid sized ship?

Tue Jul 04, 2023 7:24 am

Now they have the Crystal Serenity and the Crystal Symphony. Two pretty old ships.

Should they introduce a brand new Crystal mid sized ship similar to the Oceania Vista? It is about time!

They've only just restarted operations under new owners, any talk of new vessels is premature.

Both ships are going through a major updating in the interiors as I type. They are loved by the people that cruise either Crystal, I don't see them going anywhere for a long time.
