After driving stick shift for 15 years, I've been in an automatic for the last 5 years. Even to this day, occasionally I slam my left foot into the floor when trying to push the (nonexistent) clutch.
I also (more frequently than I'd like to admit) forget to put the car in park before I shut it off.
Just habits left over from driving stick that I can't seem to purge from muscle memory.

however the Daily Star link is UK. Either 'Influencers' are not too smart or they are doing this for increased endorphin clicks.
