At jetphotos.net they let more not so good quality photos in so more photographers get their photos online.

They say it's a good thing, but I prefer great quality photos - that's why I prefer A.net Big thumbs up

I'm talking about identical photos at both sites, the very same ones that are dull/blurry there are the opposite here.

differing forms of compression.

I have noticed that with my photos, way back in the beginning. I can upload here up to 1500 and it is not compressed (at least you cant tell) but over there anything over 1024 px wide is compressed and looks bad.

When your laptop's LCD's native resolution is 1600 x 1200....you don't use jphotos for a background. A.net pics work much better.

I have had a problem lately with the new 1 MB rule even for some of my 1024x7XX photos. I guess with a scanned pic you must get more noise/grain which adds to the larger file size compared to a digital pic. Good thing is PS is so good you can't tell the different from 98% to 100% for quality  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

About jetphotos quality compared to here- I've noticed the same thing mostly visible in the thumbnails though.

At Jetphotos they treat photography as a hobby and not as a professional skill. Maybe some of the photos leave something to be desired, but they arent SO bad that you dont wanna look at them. Check Air2Air over there, great photographer  Smile his shots are blurry, but thats for a reason  Big grin

Thats why I prefer them  Smile

Getting photos accepted at this site is harder than trying to get an arsenal of guns past security. JMHO.

I think probably that someone joe schmoe probably just uploads his photo straight out of the camera at jetphotos, then has it rejected several times at A.net, asks for assistance, then sharpens it and then it gets accepted.

As for jetphotos, i'd never visit because its horrendously slow and the majority of the pictures aren't worth viewing anyway  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
