Colorful Paint No Longer?

Sat Nov 04, 2006 3:02 am

Hello,

Now I am confused but maybe the rules have changed when I have been away from the forum.

But Ryanair EI-DAO is showing a special text and nearly all photos in the db has the cross data search information COLORFUL PAINT.

Now this one below is rejected and a note from the screener says OTHER PAINT is the correct box to tick. Is this the new rule or should I appeal?

https://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...s/big/20061103_EIDAO8666nefSCH.jpg

Perhaps the photo is substandard and therefore not worthy of an appeal?

Thanks in advance,
Frippe

When checking that I came about OTHER PAINT on the last pic then a few without specialties and some old ones Wrongly uploaded as colorful....A small sticker isn't colorful. I always use the last accepted pics when I'm not sure or simply read the descriptions again.

Oh dear, this topic again.....! It should be colorful_paint. It's not a hybrid, it's a special marking.

AFAIK Other_paint is hybrid/special marking while colorful_paint is Special. So you are right about the special marking but as the screener said it's hybrid/special marking.

If the screeners don't know how should the uploaders ? (this is not a go at the screeners)
Maybe it's finally time to update the help text on the upload confirmation page. It's only been since January this year that the rules have been implemented.
This topic is discussed every few weeks and nobody has the time to update the help text (or to make a link there to the thread where the rules have been explained).

Would you please be so kind to provide the link, I'm not sure if I'm aware of the new rules.

Thank you very much, confuses me even more.

Team LH Hybrid / special marking and LH soccer nose (in my eyes a MARKING) Special paint shemes (colorful,. limited to only few a/c).

I think it really needs an update or better clarification. or probably the Category you see in the Cross Data search should be re-named. Lot's of people (me included) are confused about the term Colorfull or Hybrid for just a black-white sticker or standard livery.

Thank you all for your input.

The appeal was not successful, so I will now upload it as OTHER_PAINT and see if the photo is good enough then. I will then also read very carefully the help-text before ticking that box, since I am still very confused,

I thought images weren't meant to be rejected for just getting colorful/other_paint mixed up? Or was it also rejected for another reason?

Either way, it still is colorful_paint  Smile
