Airliners.net Very Slow To Load

Sat Dec 23, 2006 3:06 am

Just in the last day or so, it takes a very long time for the site to "load". It's almost as if the computer is locked up for perhaps 30 seconds to a minute. This is happening on both my desktop and notebook computers. Anyone else having a similiar problem?

I'm not really having the problem ... is it with all the pages or just the home page?

The homepage is slow due the festive snowfall but the rest of the site is working fine for me.

It's all of the pages - they load fine, once the site is fully loaded but that's taking an extra long time. I checked to see if my spyware or anti-virus software might be causing the delay but that doesn't seem to be the case. Something is different, but I'm not sure what.

I can't open airliners at all at home since about 2 days. At the office, however, there is no problem at all, although the office only has a dial up connection whereas I have a broadband connection at home. I already checked everything at home, erased cookies and temporary files, checked antivirus software and pop up blockers, but it still doesn't access the airliners server. Anyone has an idea what might be going on?

I've had problems for several days (though it seems OK today). I could load the home page but nothing else, and in some cases loading the home page caused my PC to crash. If this is a result of the server upgrade then I suppose it's a minor inconvenience that we just have to live with, but if it's a result of this stupid snow feature then I think as a paying member I've been let down somewhat.
