Warning Text Too Dark

Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:23 pm

The text on top of the Non-Aviation forum which reads "Do not post in here unless you are capable of expressing yourself in a civilized manner. Our rules will be strictly applied and users banned permanently and without warning if they violate them" is too dark. Why is it black text on a dark blue background? Please change it.

We have not heard this complaint from any other user. The text is actually off-white and should appear as follows:

Try clearing your cache and/or rebooting.

Try clearing your cache and/or rebooting.

Have done that twice now in the past month (last one was 2 minutes ago with a reboot) and still black text with a dark blue background.

Also, the number of posts displayed in the previous XXX on the forums page is also black with a dark blue background.

Any other ideas?

Firefox 3.0.4 99.99999999999% of the time.

The other times I use Internet Explorer 7.0.6001

Both have the black text. Thanks for looking in to this.

Also, any idea what's happening in the picture below as well?

For me . . .

Using Firefox 3.0.4, I see black text in the warning box.

Using IE 7.0.5730.13, I see the text in the warning box as off-white.

A reboot would not have any affect on the color of text as displayed in an HTML browser.

The problem is in the HTML code, not the browser. To expand, I have the same issue at work. The text does display properly (off-white) when viewed in Internet Explorer 6, however in Firefox 3.0.4, the text is black.

Heck, I'll even fix the problem for you...

The font color is not defined in the font tag after TD BGCOLOR="#1D364C". Adding COLOR="#C4C8CC" inside the font tag fixed the problem in a test using the original source file viewed in Firefox 3.0.4.

Easy fix, for an easy bug.

There's no point in fixing it if it isn't broken. Looks fine on my PC, off white text on blue background like it has always been.

Did you not read the thread prior to replying? The problem only occurs in Firefox (both the Mac and PC versions, btw).

Strangely enough I did read it. I also saw Phil is having problems, but he didn't say he was using Firefox.

I'm guessing the major re-write that has been said to be coming next week (Monday or Tuesday, IIRC).

That is just a guess though. I'm probably wrong.
