Trip Report Feature Won't Save - I Lost My Report!

Sun Feb 22, 2009 2:09 am

So I worked for over an hour on a trip report, only to hit "preview post" and have the screen reply,

"The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error."

So I've lost more than an hour of work.

Two hours later, only 1/4 of it was ever saved - despite seeing the "Saving Draft" line showing up repeatedly - and I still cannot add anything to it!!

If you're undergoing maintenance, it sure would have been nice to have had that notice before wasting an hour typing out my trip report only to lose it forever!!

What's going on?

Sorry to hear that. Next time, write your report on a word document so you can save it and always come back to it later. After a quick copy and paste, you'll have it up on the trip reports in no time! Look forward to seeing it if you're going to post it again.

I've got it re-written, but the six hours later and the same problem is occuring. It will not save, and it will not preview. Only the error message.

I have never seen that error message before - any word on what is going on?

Has anyone else been able to post a trip report today?
